  1. I had the same problem. Tried all the above but to no avail. It has eventually come right after about 150 kms. Strange?
  2. My feeling exactly.
  3. Have seen the skewer lever on different sides of bikes. Which side should the lever be? Shimano say on the opposite side of the rotor. Have I answered my question right there?
  4. Best fit is by the person doing the fit IE: Fitter. Seriously, it depends on who is doing the fitting. I have done both Ergo and BG and speak from experience
  5. I was my kit often and the helmet is scrubbed separately. I notice it takes ages to dry, sometimes 3 days and if worn prior to this, it will stink, promise.
  6. I have a new bar with the quick release mechanism for anybody who wants it. Free. It does not have the flat carrier on it as I used it on a mod for my tourer. Welcome to take it off me. I am sure a flat rack can be screwed/bolted on top.
  7. Hey Slo, must have been the bike that took you to 18. Love that Ciocc! Moral of the story - A good bike allows you more drinking time. Nice one Slowbee!
  8. Good on yah Meezo. Shot mate!
  9. As the man says. Have done it for years and many miles. Not a problem. Just do it. Big trick is to use sparingly and wipe clean/dry after application.
  10. IMHO you should check out the classifieds and get a second hand bike. Next and very important, make sure it is the right size and it "fits". Get someone who knows the basic to help you. Then ride the bike and ride it some more and only then decide if you like the sport and want to upgrade later. Upgrade you will, no matter what bike you buy! My 2c worth. Oh yes, welcome.
  11. As the man said. Many factors out of your control.
  12. Good news this thread. Maybe a "Thank You" thread will be in order? All the good things people do on the road/trails will generate a more positive attitude. A good "Thank You" costs nothing and some people appreciate it more than others?
  13. What about an Ependorf filled with acid or dare I say it, Anthrax, The epindorf implodes rather nicely when discharged from a catapult in the direction of selfish, inconsiderate HiAce drivers. I know a catty in not good on a bike but the epindorf with good stuff inside will be. Just saying...........
  14. Yes a 8km hill always gets me on the way home. Going to work is a pleasure, no sweat. It is always the hill that kills me after work. Take the *** at work out on the hill I say.
  15. Exactly what I am talking about!
  16. Who cares? (I sometimes wear my t shirts back to front anyway.)
  17. I use them. Would not use anything else although I have tried most grips. The best. Take into account I don't do DH, mad jumping stuff etc. I have never not felt in control. The best for touring and long distances. IMHO
  18. May work but Bogus is coming to Durban and will have a look at it first. There is plan B with a local lad depending on what Bogus has to say.
  19. Thanks again Grebel Have contacted him and said he has done plenty carbon steerer extensions. FYI He will be doing carbon bike repairs full time. His price is certainly cheaper than a replacement. Seems he is the go to man. Thanks for all the help.
  20. Engine oil works for me and I have been using it for years. Just lube properly and wipe off. And as Redlight said, do it long before you ride.
  21. I hear you Cippo, looking at the options but replace is the safest way to go I think.........? Will try the options recommended and feel my way around. Thanks.
  22. thanks. will do. Have dealt with James previously.
  23. You are a mind of information! Thanks, will give it a go but the number seems incorrect?
  24. Was thinking along the same line. Don't know of any carbon pros in the Durban area though. Maybe some help on this forum?
