  1. Is he still scamming? Anyone....?
  2. Did not go. Picked up an ear infection, antibiotics and much pain.
  3. Have problems reading maps and even bigger issues with the GPS, Old school. New technology absolutely slays me. It does not help if I went to a bum school...............educational status lacking big time.
  4. I would never tell you where to get off, ever! More casual from my side, meet people, go for a ride, sleep over and then some more time on the bike. Don't think it would ever need such organization as things are better if kept simple? I find organized tours here very expensive indeed and they do not seem to cater for the different needs of the individual. I could be wrong but in my case I prefer just to ride without over planning. Your plans need a huge amount of admin etc and I wish you all the best. But thanks anyway.
  5. Happened to me at junior school and an op sorted it out. Nut still floats about randomly though. Guess they did not sew it up? Have a 0% chance of it coming between me and the saddle. Whoopee!
  6. Not low enough and the lower the better. Fire with Fire. Take him out.
  7. I hope the bank is not doing a courtesy case with you. They seemed to have learnt a lot from Zuma and his dumb followers. Please keep us informed if there is an outcome? If his address is available, why not arrange with all the other people involved to "pay him a visit".
  8. What a trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Each town could hang this together for themselves and move onto another town by road if the bush is not your thing. Just looking at getting people out there who do not race or are unable to race. Putting some miles in to a different place is more appealing than finishing at the start? Going places is better! This could lead to doing further distances and to check gear if the intention is to go minimalist for events coming up you are not sure about doing but would like to give it a try? Durban is a good place to start something like this?
  10. Plan to leave this weekend but going on to Boston. Bypass Pmb (fortunately!) Route bit sketchy but will wing it. Beauty about this - no rush. Need those bars though......
  11. I am sure you do! Could be longer and leaving from a central point, town specific.
  12. Gravel preferably.
  13. I have had this idea in my head for some time and wonder what other Hubbers may think? I know they will suggest something! What about arranging short slow tours initially with an overnight stop and return the next day? It could begin with full support gradually doing longer trips increasing the number of overnight stops if required? These longer trips could be supported or unsupported? I feel this would introduce more people to trekking and to see another dimension of cycling which people may be uncertain about but would like to try. Safety in numbers? Move from one town to the next and invade on another Hubbers hospitality..... Opinions welcome. Just a thought.
  14. Did you "trip" this area? If so, more detail as per the route? Looks like a great ride.
  15. My feeble contribution. Seweweekspoort and Anysberg Reserve on the way to Montague.
  16. Thanks Eddy, good to know. Will be making some up in the New Year for to test. Like your pics though. Looks like you had a hot time of it as well. Lovely route to do. Must compare notes and pics sometime.
  17. At least you had the bag it could fall onto. Hope it held out o'k? Back yet?
  18. Yes, I agree. I know Jake the Snake from way, way back. More interested in beers than coffee then I promise!
  19. We should meet up and do setting up ride? Not happy with my set-up but am starting to enjoy the bike a little more. I need all the help I can get.
  20. The company I was working for at the time had to close its doors because the main man tried his luck with this too. Ended up on the street overnight I did.
  21. Toni is getting busy these days and wheel building and truing seems to handed over so it appears? Toni was always my go2 man. Can't think of the bloke in Hillcrest.......?
  22. Hi I need to have a set of wheels built up or re built and need to find a wheel expert here in Durban. Tried to search for hubber in Hillcrest but no luck. Can anybody help me out here please? Thanks
