Get over it ladies. We all have opinions. Pretty much 95% of everything is opinion. MY opinion, is that I would be am VERY dubious about drilling a hole through the BB shell of a Carbone bike. Particularly if there is an aluminium insert. Holes drilled through professional carbon paddle blades (made for insertion in water) post manufacture, always end up causing that part of the paddle connection to fail. Two reasons are apparent (and sure, this is a rather thin - 3.5mm section). 1.The drilling causes minute fractures in the resin (the material binding the carbon), which can be mitigated by using sharp bits and high speed. 2. Regardless of the fact that the resin is both pressure impregnated, and then the entire blade heat treated/cured, delamination of the bond between the two materials is not uncommon. For me, I would say use it as an excuse to remove your BB, grease and check everything, and drain. And NEVER be tempted to leave out the plastic sleeve between the 2 cups. It is there for a reason. Just another GOOD reason not to ride in the rain (if you can help it). It stuffs EVERYTHING up. Over. Out.
