From cricinfo In Jacques Kallis alone, South Africa showed enough character to fill a film studio. Knowing he would have to bat for the better part of two sessions, Kallis put his hamstring injury aside for the sake of the team and Faf du Plessis, the debutant who would lean on him. Greats of the game are remembered for things like this. Statistics and individual milestones are what people can look up and marvel at, but the memory of a wincing, limping but straight-faced Kallis doing what he can for his country is something no number can ever convey.

King Kallis is by far the best cricket to ever represent South Africa and it really annoys me when people question his selection. Even worse when the Poms rate Ian Botham higher than Kallis

Agreed we are not forcing batsmen to play every ball early in their innings and thus allow them to get their eyes in

Dale has been down on his pace in this series, although we know he takes a while to hit his straps, even Siddle at the end of the day while not being able to stand up was bowling faster than Dale and Morne was this test. It is concerning, we also dont have any out and out quicks coming through the ranks it seems

In the shorter format it allows you to play another bowler batsman, but ideally a permanent keeper will be found in all forms of the game. AB keeping is a short term sollution that does not seem to be working too well at the moment
