  1. Dooood Uber are soo bad when it comes to things like this.! 😡 I had an altercation with an Uber driver who’s driving was soo bad.. he missed an off ramp then drove off on the next one, missed another turn off from that off ramp, stopped the car, reversed while other cars had to dodge him, turned off and then stopped in some suburb and told me that was the destination, when I said it wasn’t he told me I must have made a mistake, I’m stupid and to get out.. I told him what I thought of him and got out.. no doubt one stars were given from us both.. I reported it but later received an email from Uber about the verbal altercation and the drivers safety being of utmost importance, my account will be suspended blah blah.. I responded with the events that lead up to the altercation and how it was actually my safety, their customers safety, that they should be concerned about.. they were having none of it and the response was generic and still all about their drivers safety.. I don’t use Uber anymore
  2. Is it natural to just put your phone in the middle pocket.? Cos speaking of nuts I feel like if it’s in the left or right pockets it can be grabbed off me easier..🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have an ice bracelet on my plate carrier(body armor).. I should think about using it while cycling🤔.. *edit “the ice bracelet, not the plate carrier” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But also what happens happens man 🤷🏼‍♂️I live in a way that I know there is evil and horrendous things out there and I’ll prepare for it as best I can, but I’m not going to live in complete paralyzing fear of it..
  3. Yeah they normally a nice strong stream rather than a spray.🤘🏻🤣🤣 . I just thought it would be a nasty but kind of funny surprise if you had to use it one day, which I truly hope never happens, and got a face full of it..😳
  4. Have you actually sprayed it.? Are you sure you not going to get yourself with any back spray while riding.?! 😳🤣
  5. I’ve never been able to get the garmin live tracking to work..🤷🏼‍♂️
  6. I hear that.! Also for me.. I’ve literally just got back from a two hour ride on my own.. who’s going to be able to join me on a Wednesday afternoon for that..? I tell my wife roughly how long I’m going to be and if I’m longer she’ll contact me.. if I get knocked off my bike my garmin will notify her🤷🏼‍♂️.. I put in my AirPods(Spatial Audio on) and I just go.. I can still hear everything around me and from firearms/SD training my situational awareness is very good.. it’s my happy place..
  7. That’s a hot bike.!😳😍
  8. I ride alone most of the time.. around fourways, rivonia, kyalami and out to and around the cradle.. sometimes ride with a mate on weekends.. never had any issues, yet, touch wood..😬 I’ve always kind of just done things on my own.. skating, surfing, golf and very rarely in groups.. played a lot of team sport in school but always struggled with it..
  9. Nice dude.! Yeah, I saw Cade media saying they were really good.. decided to do it, so was expecting good, but man these things are just epic.. yeah my wife nearly had a seizure when I told her how much they were😳🤣.. but you absolutely right.. factor in the cage as well and you not far off.. wonder if they’ll ever do an insulated bottle🤔 also, if you just doing a shorter ride and only need one bottle the base by itself is just super clean on the frame.. hated the empty cage.. 😃🤘🏻
  10. Pulled the trigger on these FIDLOCK bottles, and daaaaam are they cool.!!😃🤘🏻 Waaay Better than I expected.! 🥳🤘🏻
  11. I am the first person to start fiddling with stuff myself, but some things are best left to the professionals.. I think this is one of them..😳🤣🤣
  12. Nice thing with just folding and sewing it shorter is you can take it out if it’s not right.. don’t let them cut and sew.. any laundromat/clothing alteration place should be able to handle that.. 😉🤙🏻
  13. Best bet is to get a garmin computer and look for routes and load them onto your garmin.. that will direct you.. but it has no idea about traffic.. to avoid traffic you need to get up earlier than everyone else and hit the streets.. 🤷🏼‍♂️.. 😉🤙🏻
  14. Oh yeah I forgot about the tummy.!! 😳🤣
  15. Yeah I had to be real with myself.. open mouthed, breathing heavily, red faced and sweaty isn’t a good look for me..😬🤣🤣 not interested in photos of that🤦‍♂️
  16. I didn’t buy any photos last year and I didn’t even wear the stickers this year.. 🤣🤣 madness.!
  17. I’m also trying to think of a challenge over December.. was thinking ride as much as possible but New Year’s Day I want to go for the 100miles, or just go to the cradle and start doing loops until I fall over🤷🏼‍♂️🤣..
  18. No that’s fair.. you did the right thing.! 😉🤙🏻
  19. One person in the car driving.? From what I have been told by anti hijacking squads, it’s rarely less than three people in a car and you might see them pointing a phone at you as if filming but they are actually on video call with their boss showing him the car and the boss gives the order to take a car or not.. otherwise just an a$$hat in a car..🤷🏼‍♂️🤣
  20. I’m enjoying road but maybe one day I’ll venture into a bit of gravel.. Yeah I love my top tube bag.. I 100% hear you.. I live up in the fourways area so I cycle the 947 section from woodmead up kyalami and to bryanston a bunch of times before the race to familiarize myself.. I didn’t quite stick to the 30 minutes eating as I would have been eating on kyalami climb.. rather eat on the woodmead section before the climb.. same on the homestead climb.. And made sure I had a quick sip of my carb drink when my garmin warned me a climb was close.. I read that gels and bars can take 3 to 15 minutes to kick in.. so also tried to take that into consideration.. haha dude, I’m not even comfortable yet having both hands off the bars at the same time.. eating on the move on a trail would be tough for me.. on a training ride I prefer stopping to eat even.. like I said I struggle to breath through my nose so if I’m chewing too much I lose my breath badly🤣🤣..
  21. Yeah so my math was 1 bar and a gel every hour and then the carb mix just to supplement that.. so maybe every second drink was from that bottle.. sorry I realize now it looks like a said half an hour ride(1/2) I meant 1 to 2 hour training rides..😉🤘🏻 yeah the eating wasn’t the problem, although I struggle to breath through my nose at the best of times so it can be a bit of a challenge(broken nose as a kid).. it’s shortly afterwards that makes me feel so nauseated.. does go away, maybe 5 to 10 minutes
  22. 100%.! 1 to 2 hour rides a just use liquids, also because I’m trying to lose the last couple inches off my belly🤣🤣.. my garmin is set to 15 minutes for drinking and 30 minutes for food. I’ll have a gel or two just incase on shorter rides but seldom use them in the first two hours.. Planned longer rides I’ll start eating early on.. 947 I was forcing down a bar at every 30 minutes and then a gel on every hour.. online calculator suggested 32 grams per hour to sustain myself.. think I could up that though from what I’m experiencing with that.. My bottles are always one plain water and then the other with electrolyte mix.. or just oros🤣🤣
  23. Mellow velo are awesome.! Also my local.. serviced my bike there before 947 and did a fitting with Richard.. the sales guys, evo and his crew, and Richard are all just awesome people.. 💪🏼🥳🤘🏻
  24. I’ve watched a video on having to train your stomach to eat during an endurance effort.. I hate eating on the bike, bars, gels, fruit, anything, it all makes me feel so sick.. only on long rides I take food. 1/2 hour rides I just take liquids..
  25. I know wilderness.. my childhood holidays were always up the garden route.. that’s so awesome.! I’ll buy wheels from you when I can.🥳🤘🏻
