  2. I'm afraid I'll like it more then being a roadie, as I love the 'technical stuff' and getting involved in the whole works and then my wallet will go on a diet
  3. Hey forum, I'm more then willing to attempt a MTB race with a friend, nothing hectic one day race to feel for the sport (something coming up beginning April) I know about the difference in gear and bikes Any tips from ppl here? Has anyone done a transition of such sort? *wondering*
  4. yes ofcourse I've taken that into consideration, I'll use all of the posts and guidelines only, thx for all the input Have u got a tel number for me?

  6. This looks like a summary of everything being said on here The only sugar intake I have is fruit juices, fresh fruit. I don't drink coffee or tea so that's not a problem.... I think I may be onto something here....
  7. I'm very happy I've elliminated: chips, fizzy drinks, take aways (still consume once or twice a month) bread / rolls (still working on whole wheat), cookies, choc, and I'm doing my best to get rid of mayo, ketchup and aromat. I've been successful at regular water intake at around 2-3l per day
  8. Thx for all ur input guys, u been good sports. @Dangle: thx for the number, I'll give her a bell when I find some time
  9. Can anybody recommend a dietician in Randburg/JHB area? Someone they believe in?
  10. Ok, so that confirms by belief of "starving yourself slows metabolism" theory that I've always practised. Balanced diet: check How about training in the afternoon after work on an empty stomach? Then replenashing the calories....
  11. hahahaha what I diet!! All that would send me to the moon no problem
  12. Ok Imma hav to print all this out and come to a conclusion on what to eat. Now another question: In the long run does starving yourself work? I've heard mixed stories... @Cervelo: what's your weight? I'm a 176cm and weight around 86-89kg, and I don't feel tired or as if I'm carrying excess fat p.s I roughly consume 2-3l of water per day, more during workouts and outrides during weekends
  13. Hi fellow hubbers... I have a small request from all those reading this... Can you post your daily eating regime (healthy) what you eat and at more or less what time? how long it keeps you away from chow? and what are the benefits to yourselves. I know I could google this and see but I need something that has been tried by others and works, I'm looking to stay healthy and perhaps loose a few kilos. I'm also aware that not everything works for everybody, but I'd like options. Let me start: early morning (07h00) protein shake (1-2 bananas, other fruit, youghurt and a table spoon of jam + Evox whey protein) Lunch time at work is either 4 slices of low GI / whole wheat bread with peanut butter and jam, or cheese and chicken toasties or lunch tin full of mixed fruit After work (around 5pm) dinner that usually comprises of pasta (all home made) and that usually happens after my 20-25km training session Not sure if I'm doing it right...
