  1. Ok I think the voices here have been divided pretty evenly I don't care if I've been riding 4 months or 4 years, spines and skulls break just the same. I'll take u up on your offer Patches as soon as I'm back from EU, cannot afford to injury myself now
  2. I snooze my phone for 45min... and that's the time allowed for waking up. I battle with with myself... but it all goes away when I put my kit on and start paddling
  3. well I ride an anthem X3 full susie, not sure of the travel but I'm still using a standard Fox RL series shoch on the front and a standard RP rear floating shock. I also have a beater HT Silverback I don't mind cracking in half. I do have a pool at home, but not sure if it's deep enough to coushion my fall. Otherwise MTN Bike park is the most reasonable option. Last time I went there I got all cut up on barbwire so haven't really checked the place out properly. This brings me to another set of questions: Should I be clipped in mid air? Shocks should be locked out? On landing ramp should be made of soft sand? I don't think I'll attemp it before I leave for my EU trip
  4. Hi all, I'd like to attempt a backflip on my full suspension mtb.... I'm looking for a semi safe place to do it in, and I think it will have to be outside mtb parks, as such behaviour will not be allowed by management. Any places u guys can recommend in and around jhb? Has anyone on here ever tried or has done it? I'll make sure to catch it on video and post links when I eventually get around to doing it
  5. Kingskloof also not that far... Just past the N14 http://www.kingskloofmtb.co.za/
  6. A friend of mine also got his bike 'serviced' there recently.... After going there twice, and breaking a rear derailer into pieces he went to Linden to get it sorted. No problem since....
  7. Thanks everyone for all the input!! I'll definately come back to this thread in a month's time
  8. Keep me updated there!! Do you have a link for their website?
  9. If they ship within EU do you still need to pay VAT?
  10. I've asked them about the 2012 XT gruppo, they cannot confirm dates at the moment. Either way I will leave Germany with an XT gruppo should it be the old or 2012 There are sets with breaks and sets with wheels... look further down
  11. Countless times all the roadies (and some mtb'ers) were asked and discussed to ride single file and behind the yellow line... Sat morning on my way to the teak place from lanseria airport side, and what do I come across? Countless groups and couples riding behind yellow line, across my lane the lot! All riding abreast not giving a k@k of coming and going traffic!! I didn't not stop to comment on their behaviour but next time I think I should. I have a giant sticker on my car urging other drivers to treat cyclists equally to other users of traffic.... I think Imma take it off... no use if (we) cannot behave on the roads....
  12. http://www.actionsports.de/ I found this one.... look at those prices of the XT Groupsets!! I wonder where the catch is....
  13. Hi all, Sometime from mid July to mid August I'm in Neutraubling, Germany. I was wondering whether anyone of you know of cycling shops (in and around Munich) or online cycling shops that will deliver anywhere in Germany. Specifically looking for MTB components Thx in advance

  17. It would be good if someone went to view the bike and picked it up. Anyone nowdays could arrange to deposit money directly as long as they have internet connection. 2 issues though: 1.)One would need a gun for the visit to the premises 2.)if you did log into your bank account maybe at gun point they would ask you to transfer everything you have and dump your body somewhere far away hmm....
  18. I'd also be a part of that 'niche' group... 26"
  19. do you do chests as well??
  20. Apparently this is an ANC thing... they don't stamp all ballot papers where the other parties are more likely to win.... Passing on what I have heard....
  21. Voten morgen.... Riden afternoonen Teak Place calling my name?
  22. If it's the same shoes I'm thinkning about, then I'm very happy with my pair. I've used them every weekend and public holiday extensively, they have seen rocks, rivers, swamps and mud and I could'nt be happier. I find the extra studs in front very usable, and the rubber nose protection coming in handy. They are easy to clean and the inner sole fits perfectly. They may be my first pair, but I'm happy. I recommended them to my dad and he bought a pair as well. No complains from his side either... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scott-MTB-Pro-Shoes/dp/B003VUZC22 If these are the shoes in question then there is my brief review
  23. Hey... at least he didn't start another 26" Vs 29" thread
  24. The pic isn't done on a leather couch?? wtf??? :-)
  25. Hi Forum, Was thinking about it, and I imagined all the hubbers running a political party that revolved around cycling and bicycles. Some of the rules I'd lay down: 1.)Remove import duties on bicycles and components from overseas (I know cycling shops would close - my imagination running rampant) 2.)All road offences/accidents where cyclists are hurt or killed, would result in a vehicle driver death. 3.)Weekend drivers would need to pay very high road tax, the money would be used to build MTB parks and fix roads (especially behind the yellow line) 4.)<insert law here> Any additions guys?
