  1. What's a good set of light weight mtb 28hole rims? I'm thinking of building up a set of racing wheels on my extralite hubs. So far, I've seen: Sunringle equalizer 21 (not sure how strong they are or if they're available here) DT swiss carbon rims (too expensive and not recommended for tubeless) ZTR Olympic (doesn't look like any of the other Stans rims come in 28)
  2. Great service!
  3. Used African Independent with no problems when I had to claim. Now using OutSurance cos way cheaper and heard a few good reports of people having no problems with quick claims.
  4. Awesome! What make bolts are you using?
  5. WOW, where can I get a cool LATEX cycling suit for the wife? Does it come with a whip?
  6. Thanks MyRace for the quick response you guys really seem on the ball. Great to see! I was also wondering about the age categories, thanks for clarifying that point.
  7. Can't edit my details! Frustrating! When I got to the 'pay' screen, it only had road listed and no mtb, now I can't seem to change it. As far as the address goes, I live in a complex, but there's no where to enter the complex name and number. Also not sure how the pricing works - says R110 for licence, but then at one point total was R330, then when I checked out it was R90 + R55 ??? Tried to check details on myrace site, but also can't update anything there.
  8. Thanks turtlek, was good to meet you too Bought the Bontragers. Think the Corima's sold (someone took them for a test ride tomorrow). And was just too late for the zipp 404's (which I've been focused on buying for the last 3years! Still can't believe I actually bought something else), which was probably a good thing
  9. There are (/were) a set of corima aero's and a set of bontrager carbon wheels for sale. How do they compare? And how do they compare to zipp 404's? (excluding weight, rim height and price which I already know) Looking for people's personal riding experiences.
  10. Speed/rolling difference?
  11. BUMP
  12. bump
  13. Need some advice please: Will it make a big difference if I use light weight latex tubes vs heavier tubes with Joe's on my racing wheels?

    Capri A bunch

I was also in the group. The same guys swearing at us for going through red lights (which we did slow down for, and obviously stopped if there was any traffic even remotely close by) had no problem riding 4 or 5 abreast, sometimes on the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic, and blocking cars from behind. If you're gonna stick to the road rules, you have to stick to them 100%. The people in the bunch that hadn't been riding in winter or complained because they were tired from their Durban ride should have just dropped back to a slower group. No-one forces them to ride in A-group. And yes, it isn't only in CAPRI A-group. Maybe its time to start an A1 and A2 group Just my 2cents on the matter... sure I'll get some flack for it.
  15. Is anyone else not receiving email notifications? Mine haven't been coming through for a few weeks and I've checked my settings are still ok.
  16. There must be at least 1 true weight-weenie out there somewhere on the hub that appreciates this work of art
  17. Just spending loads of cash to save a few grams is so boring! This is much cooler... http://www.light-bikes.it/forum/index.php?topic=27.0
  18. Don't think anyone's mentioned the benefit yet of being able to run MUCH lower pressures on tubeless setup. I find my cornering is much better and riding through sandy sections is easier with lower pressure, and don't have to worry about tube snake-bites.
  19. Cable-ties and the right bottle-cage are cheaper and lighter.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> These also look good- minoura qb-90. http://www.minoura.jp/index-et.html
  20. Something interesting to add to this maybe - how much do people spend on their sports drinks? I get 2.5kg of energy drink powder or 2.5kg of pure protein powder for R180. Lasts me a few months.
  21. Bedfordview Cycles also do tri stuff
  22. I do a Tuesday mtb ride from Dunkeld Cycles if anyone's interested. 8am. Spruit/ Delta Park/ Emmarentia/ Albert's Farm in different combinations. 2-3hrs.
  23. Diamant's High Endurance Energy powder, chews and protein shake. It works, it's kosher and it's cheap!
