  5. Hell yeah, reckon a Hub ride is due! Any idea if they allow use of the braai facilitys?
  6. Good point Off topic, should organise another hub ride and braai again
  7. Yet that isn't what the photo shows, is it? If they entered the N14 from where the Muldersdrift Hotel is, then it still isn't illegal. I'd assume that's their entry point for the N14 as it is for most rides in the area? ? It is obvious that you are very typical of the problem that makes cyclists unacceptable to the broad public. ? You do not know the rules of the road yet you profess to drive there with a car. ? Find out what the law says about riding on a Highway, find out what the definition is of a highway, find out what the definition is of an expressway and then come back to this debate. Buddy, don't get smart. Clearly this is no debate, if a person questions you or your motives you attack them and make personal remarks. By your comment to Shaun (who does much for safe cycling) as well, it seems you have NO interest in creating a solution but to stir ***. Grow up.

  9. Awesome stuff, thanks for the update LTG! Teak Place is my 'alternate' van Gaalens, just a bit closer.
  10. Actually that first picture is on a stretch of the N14 that is not a freeway, I used to stay in Ruimsig and travelled the N14 in both directions on a regular basis. The second photo really isn't a calamity, although I'd hope that those okes had the decency to give way for overtaking traffic. Have to agree with cap'n slow's comment about taking photos whilst driving. Pretty darn stupid, in fact on the same level as the complaints leveled at cyclists. Mind you I find the whole argument of 'cylists' vs 'drivers' vs 'taxis' etc etc stupid, as it comes down to a mentality issue of road users in general.danger dassie2009-09-27 03:47:10

  23. van Gaalens is without a doubt a jewel. Not just the riding but the openess of the staff and family there. The trail pass fee is relatively new and has only come into effect the last month or so, you also receive a green sticker that doubles as a pass that needs to be kept visible. This is due to Eric's efforts in now securing trail access accross 40 odd farms. Theres plenty more in the pipeline too Eric and his family have become avid mountain bikers recently as well Sigh, would much rather be out on the trails today... deadlines gotta be met though
