  1. Wooden have thought it possible, surely it must go against the grain?
  2. Stay at the Backpackers in Sabie you numbnut. Heated pool, cold beers!
  3. "This past Friday evening LA showed its true colors when a group of gangbangers in the Highland Park area of East Los Angeles shot a cyclist in the back. Every few weeks the Midnightridazz, a bike enthusiast group, gathers to take part in themed mass bike rides across East LA, Hollywood, downtown LA, Silver Lake and Echo Park. Known to last until the wee hours of the morning, these rides are made up of hundred of bike riders. Unfortunately, last Friday?s ?Neverland Ride? turned out to be more like the ?Straight outta Compton, crazy muthaf&^%@# named ? ride" http://www.thesaiko.com/cyclist-shot-in-los-angeles-on-midnight-ridazz-ride/
  4. A couple of journos do write about it, and a couple of photo journalists do shoot it, but like everyone else we need to put food on the table and earn an income. So unfortunately until editorial staff, publishers and client can see the light, local coverage goes to the so called big three. The recent MTB World Cup here is a case in point, even the local cycling press did it no justice. Sponsors like MTN, Nissan etc are pushing the envelope though. So perception is changing, it's a constant battle. Something like LA coming over would be of huge benefit I reckon, especially if he fielded a team of rugby players! danger dassie2009-07-29 09:41:19
  5. This is what I like, some of the behind the scenes and more abstract/creative shots of the many shooters covering 'le Tour' http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/07/2009_tour_de_france.html
  6. May not be as crazy as it sounds. will i be out of a job? I'm sure the hub will have an opening Pistadex, I'm sure. danger dassie2009-07-29 08:58:20
  7. Heheh... Would be interesting if M&G's shareholders did buy out Independant and brought them back into SA. A positive move imho. Anyway, good work pistadex et al. Already mailed ama rider Gauteng about the Spruit.
  8. O'reilly will shoot you for that
  9. Not sure if the race numbers are supposed to be the same as the photo sticker, the organisers are supposed to be responsible for packing of the numbers and photo stickers. Although the photo stickers are supplied by Action Photo.
  10. rather unusual tactic. especially considering lance and johan are party to it. go back and look at the tours that lance won. i remember when t-mobile put together the "superteam", both of them said at the time that a team without any clear leader was doomed to failure. they were right. so why adopt that same approach years later? johan's strategy has always been to have the whole team work for one person. my original point is that lance does not deserve credit for working for contador, when it took him two weeks to concede that the youngster was the more likely winner. Looking back at previous tours yes, but to be sure they would take into consideration the effects of absence and age would have and change their approach accordingly. So while the focus was more than likely on LA the tactic may have been to have another capable rider like AC in the team. Both riders are clearly driven and highly competitive, so it should have been clear to them and the team managment of the strong possibility of friction, to my mind it's a risk they accepted.
  11. Hotdog... that is bootifall!
  12. Did you speak to them direct? E-MAIL AND TELEPHONE e-mail: info@actionphoto.net Tel: 0027(0) 11887-7660
  13. Clearly misunderstood 'handjob'
  14. What a bunch of swine Sorry, that was a bit rash of me
  15. Tough times all round, actually surprised the cycle industry is weathering things as well as they are. Leisure and entertainment industrys are feeling the pinch as companies are tightening up budgets, this has a knock on effect. I know of one company whose directors and employees have taken a substantial pay cut in order to keep the doors open and not lay off employees.
  16. Cycling makes me happy, other cyclists make me unhappy
  17. It seems to be a perception of being safer to ride the wrong side of the road, I've had a couple instances of some twit cycling the wrong way. Guess how many experiences I've had with been hit from behind. Just one, and that was another cyclist on singletrack.
  18. On the odd occasion I take the iPod if out on a trail ride or photo ride. Nothin wrong with it. Races, I dunno, if it's banned it's banned although I reckon it shouldn't make too much of a difference with one earpiece. Too each their own, sometime folk just need to take the stick from their arse...
  19. As long as it's not whoever commentated on the MTB XC World Cup in Madrid, Spain!!! Ligget and his sidekick have good voices for commentating as well as a good rapport. If it's possible to carry that through we could have the best of both worlds!
  20. Effing idiot who tried to use my images without paying and then making lame excuses!!!! And these forkers, cross the line and you will get burnt! http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jul/08/murdoch-papers-phone-hacking
  21. Oh that, made a nice paper plane and then ended life as toilet paper whilst I read my (your) shiny new Tread on the throne.
