  1. it does look stupid, I was thinking of getting a 29'er but this will not be it.
  2. Hope you were not doing 80km/h in a 60km/h zone;-) hehehe, thx for clearing that up for me. The next issue I've read about it the "Lag time" the GPS has, it needs to warm up apparently? and last, it looses signal between heavily build areas and under tree's - so it's kinda useless for Mtb'ing? I train between houses and mtb'ing is done under trees, so I don't know.. Think I'm going to just keep it safe can go with the Speed sensor and Stride Sensor.
  3. Oo, can possibly use the GPS on my track bike as well since we are not allowed to have any watches on the bikes, can just slip it into my pocket?
  4. The GPS would save me some money cuz I'd be able to use it for Road Cycling, Mtb'ing and Jogging / trail running - if I got the Speed sensor route I'd have to buy two, one for each bike and then still get the Stride sensor..
  5. ok, I just read that again: "If speed values exceed 55 km/hour, they are divided by 10. For example, 56 km/hour will be displayed 5.6 km/hour." - so maybe it can record higher speeds but displays it differently?
  6. Lukep, this is the review I read that said the GPS can only record up to 56km/h: http://www.wellsphere.com/running-article/user-review-of-the-polar-g3-sensor-for-rs800/540269
  7. Hi Lukep, re: speed / sounds good, but is the battery only good for 20hours worth of recording? That'll last me a week if I start jogging on top of my cycling, batteries are expensive so it would not make financial sense to me if that is the case. I don't use google earth and don't care much for the routes... will have to think about it, was just thinking on getting the S3 Stride Sensor and Speed sensor and skip the GPS..
  8. I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about the watches, but I did read that the GPS can only record up to 20hours? How does that work, is the thing re-chargeable or do you have to keep on feeding it batteries? The other down side I read was that the GPS device can only record up to 56km/h I think, so that's out for cycling for me. I'm getting into running as well, so the food pod I'll need to get.. Do you know if the RS800 SD can support the CX Speed sensor or did they get around to make on for the SD model? I know it's intended use is Running / Multi sport if you use it's GPS thingy..
  9. thx, guess I'll have to sell the house then to buy ll the extras...
  10. I'd like to know if the Polar RS800 CX watch will pic up my speed sensor I used with my 720i watch or does the RS800 CX come out with it's own unique speed sensor, from the pic it looks just about what mine looks like? http://www.polarusa.com/us-en/products/accessories/Sseries_Speed_Sensor
  11. I'm also looking at these Tarmac, my Eggbeaters are becoming a pain in the arse. I just have one question, what happens when the bearings go, can any bike shop replace the bearings and do they carry stock, what are the costs involved?
  12. JAJA, sal moet kyk na my program volgende week en terug kom.
  13. How is the Garmin's battery life Para? I know the Polar's will last about a year when you ride 5-6days per week whole year.
  14. The only down side of Polar is it can only be serviced in Jhb, so it's a schlep getting to a PO and posting it off and waiting days before you get it back. Don't know if Suuto can be serviced by a any watch shop?
  15. Ernie Els won a few Mil this weekend and I think only 20ppl were taking part, WTF~!?~?~ and who watches Golf, I mean come the F-ON!?!?!?!
  16. If RH was here he'd kick Lance's @$$ again like he did last week, any one of our SA Pro Sprinters will make mince meat out of Lance. Lance should have done the Giro, he's a good tactician and could have possibly won it, maybe??
  17. I've always bought saddles on looks, wtf is it with you pansies, f**king ride your bikes and your @$$ will get use to it?!?!
  18. a Sprinter will win the Argus, I've not seen any sprinter names being mentioned so it's a stupid thread.
  19. You better then just insure the Kit for R175k as well cuz some ppl will try and take you out;-)
