  1. Happiness.
  2. you wearing a wetsuit? if so flip over and lie on your back if you need to take a break... you will bop around like a lifebuoy - very relaxing (and you will be able to see those paddlers coming)
  3. Bingo, at this point their business model is a slam dunk. All they need to do now is retain the enourmous goodwill they have from the majority of those supporting their events. A re-think on the refund policy would go a long way towards this in the medium and long term.
  4. Have to say, I love everything about IMSA events... except their refund policy. I really don't think its defensible and I sympathise with the OP. IMSA should review their policy. Full stop.
  5. Is the 3k just 2 laps of the 1.5k? So you exit the water and go over the timing mats on each lap? I'm keen to give the longer one a bash next time round.
  6. My XC60 has the earlier version with auto brake for cars etc and I assure you it has never activated in these circumstances and I fight Witkoppen mayhem every morning! It only steps in when it comes to a conclusion that a crash is inevitable and you have not reacted. I actually did have it activate once which was initially very confusing! Rushing somewhere I steemed up to a parking which had overgrown foliage at windscreen height. The deceleration is brutal and instant. Didn't know what had happened at first then figured I would have made contact with the light brush and the car would just know we were going into an object - not that it was to be a soft landing.
  7. Surprising the lack of enthusiasm for this on a CYCLING FORUM!! Its a fantastic innovation that would save many lives if it was on all new cars, which I reckon it will be (one day).
  8. So who did this? I saw 2 guys in wetsuits at the 1.5k 30 yrs + so reckon must have been hubbbers! My wife tells me one of you came third! Reckon that may have pee'd off the hardcore swimmers a bit In the end I ditched the wetsuit cos at that time I thought I would be the only one. Loved the event - great venue and nice for a family as well, so will be back for the next one.
  9. website actually slightly less than useless
  10. Looks like I was too slow for the online entries... Anyone know if you can enter on the day? And, I can't find details such as start times etc - for the 1500m that is...
  11. So, 20km of cobbles and only 1 TT....
  12. Ditto - I had a near miss with the exact same circumstances on my bicyle. cars letting other cars cross often gets messy with anything more than one single line of vehicles. not to say thats what happened in Burry's case though...
  13. with all the changes for next year and what not, smart money is that the next dominant team will be, wait for it...... Red Bull Racing...... Reality is aero carries forward - and even if it didn't Newey + Red Bull money = currently unbeatable. Before sk27 has a cadenza, let me place on record - Vettel is damn good. But he is not the only driver out there that is "damn good" - yet 4 titles in a row would suggest otherwise.
  14. OK, so the final word after Glynis and Kate had a chat... Apparently for this Heia Safari 26th and 27th October is not being used as a seeding event for Midmar Mile. So you may swim in wetsuits for this one only. All the rest are seeding events. Sorry about that, lack of Communication. Regards Glynis
  15. ok I'll ask Glynis and kate to talk to each other then...
  16. Rode the cradle yesterday and it was noticibly better. Great job guys.
  17. Dave this morning I received a reply to my query from Glynis as follows: Hi there, Sorry that is one of the rules. No wetsuits. Regards Glynis Glynis was on the email address info@midmarmile.co.za - where is Kate?
  18. I'll be happy to help! Keen for this - thanks for the follow up Dave
  19. Mine has somehow gone AWOL. Anyone know where I can get one in a hurry? 2L - (Rogue I think) tks
  20. PS Bonus point for me if Jodie Swallow wins the ladies. Definately has the speed if she can hang in to the end.
  21. Not many people giving James Cunama a shout for a result? He has had great form - so that plus my green tinted glasses gets me to put him on the podium: 1. Frederik Van Lierde 2. Andreas Raelert 3. James Cunuma 4. Eneko llanos 5. Ronnie Schildknecht
  22. here you go: http://myswimit.com/AboutIt.html
