  1. Bike no 1 - Campy , Shimano and SRAM mix Bike no 2 - Campy only Bike no 3 - Shimano only Prefer the Campy, clunk-clunk sounds so reassuring Then again my wife prefers the Shimano (I better keep quiet now)
  2. On a PLUS side, I went to CYCLE LAB in WESTLAKE, they sorted out my Carbon Fork which another LBS said couldn't be sorted - 5 minutes work - oh yes - free of charge also. That is SERVICE

  4. Hey there, TS, I am currently running Campag with an SRAM cluster and American Classic wheelset, adjustment must be spot on though. Done about 500km with this setup and no problems yet. I know you asked about Shimano but SRAM could be another option.
  5. My favourite race is still to come but I love all those already completed in my 6 months of cycling.

  8. What a lovely ride, did this on Tuesday as a 'calm me down' from the Argus tour. PS - watch out for the Cobras and the wind can get hectic out there.
  9. Five months ago I was a fat lazy couch potato smoking 40/day, 100+kg. 4 months of hard work, no smoking, eating right and I am down to 88kg. Instead of 2km, I now do 120km. My lovely wife decided to reward me with a set of American Classic rims, almost half a kilo off on the bike now and hopefully a sub 4 hour on my first ACT, starting at 9.27 so is going to be touch and go......

  17. Just got back from Killarney race track, what a brilliant ride, as a first timer it was a definite eye opener, damn those guys are fast, I was lapped 3 times. Will definitely go back for more punishment. Averaged 31kph and almost emptied my stomach a few times. Now for a lovely massage

  19. Thanks for that, I might be a bit slow for most groups at the moment so will stick to a ride along Marine drive, give me another 2-3 months then I might keep up with the beginners
