  1. Thanks for the clarification, I was wondering if it was your $h!tty spelling or if you actually meant the county in europe. Dont worry about how they get the courage to do that, only a masher with baggy shorts and flat pedals will understand..
  2. And your poor grasp of the English language is enough to make everything you said null and void...
  3. Anytime lawman, glad you finally see the light Not likely to see me at anything with marathon in it nevermind an ultra. More likely I'll be bombing it down a hill with very little regard to the slight advantage that pulling on the upstroke with cleated pedals will give me
  4. Its called a pronk now... pay attention man!
  5. I find the opposite, my bikes suspension soaks up all my energy and I cant get nearly as high as I can on a rigid BMX. Maybe I need to dial out all the rebound damping when bunny hopping
  6. That's a very broad statement! Assuming the smaller muscle group has to do the same amount of work as the big muscle group (as per my previous example) I'm pretty sure the smaller muscle will tire first. Anyway, whatever, I'm done arguing with you, you seem to be missing the point anyway...
  7. Clearly I am And clearly you don't listen (or read) properly. I never said a combo of pushing and pulling isn't efficient, I'm merely questioning your statement that your quadriceps will tire quicker than your ham strings because they are a bigger muscle. Train your hamies as much as you want, they will never have the power of your quads, and if you had to use one or the other exclusively for pedaling, your hamies will always tire first...
  8. Really? Try riding with just pushing. Then try riding with just pulling. Which muscles do you think will tire first?
  9. Why you always giving yours then? edit: too many thens
  10. Exactly, having a dropper does make bunny hopping easier with that annoying saddle out the way, but I also see potential for the dropper to take pronking to new heights too
  11. A: Yes Q: Is it possible to pronk with flats? A: Yes
  12. ...and if you don't break a bone, it might just stay sideways permanently
  13. lol... that's classic - a pronk... describes it perfectly i feel I'm going to see a lot of pronking at groenkloof this weekend. hahaha!
  14. My bro in Law just put one on his 29er Merida dual sus, after months of me raving about how cool they are. He loves it, and now knows what all the fuss is about. Oh, and he is going to be converting from lycra to baggies..
  15. Very similar yes, also in terms of timing..
  16. I don't think that's so impressive. In fact I'm surprised there are so few... When I was growing up, the bunny hop was considered an essential skill... that and being able to ollie a skateboard
  17. Yes I heard a story where he attempted it with his clip less pedals and managed to see his ass. Not verified though so I could be talking out my ass. I could easily see how it could go wrong though, even for someone as talented as GM. But the whole point of trials is not to put your foot down, so maybe clipped in isn't such a bad idea..... If you're one of those aliens like macaskill etc.
  18. Yea. Ask Greg Minaar what happens when you try do a superman when riding cleated
  19. Having said all of this, it is probably possible to bunny hop just as high when using cleats .... If you're using the proper technique, and not the "jerk off" move, as sir M so eloquently put it... Hahaha
  20. This is true... It's also because they don't even stop pedalling when they are getting air, those dudes are insane!! I was of course thinking along the lines of the skate park and DJ crews - try doing a tail whip when you're clipped in
  21. This is how you do it. Never seen a BMXer using cleats either
  22. I can manage about 30cm on the squishy, but put me on my sons trick BMX and I can bunny hop the cr@p out of that thing - at least 50cm, maybe more. On flats of course
  23. Pivot mach 6 27.5 with 155mm of groin stimulating travel at the rear
  24. Not quite! The power you have on the pull stroke is nowhere near the power you have on the push stroke.
