Redhill/blackhill (enjoy the sand) is the closest.Then Silvermine & Tokai.

They wear quickly on tar,otherwise good mud shedding ability.

Maybe the farmer/farm security thought you were the poacher (single beam light ).Shooting at poachers has been known to happen.

In my opinion everybody should be using gripshifts(X0).They are the best.

Werner, I hope you are keeping the superlight? My mate is also contemplating a carbon MTB and has those same worries. will watch this thread with interest.

GoLefty Any comments/opinions compared to the SC Superlight.

The tar hill 2/3km from the start is tough,two short steep climbs in the first 3rd of the ride,the rest is fine.Just watch the last section of single track through the roots, before the suburbs start.The spectators are hoping you will fall. Really enjoyable ride.

Single pivot is the way to go. I have a superlight - fantastic bike.

Made my decision and bought the Santa cruz Super Light. For the weight weenies - medium frame,anodised grey with RP23 shock 2380g. Also got Sram XO build kit and waiting on a hope headset at the moment.Bike to be built next week. By the way,got a little ahead of myself - birthday is only in November.

Hi I am currently riding a trance 1 (2007) and want a new bike for my 40th this year. type of riding I want to concentrate on this year is marathon and stage racing. need some advise regarding the choice between the two. My heart says go for the SC super light but the anthem x1 is similar weight wise and more economical. Thanks.

Go for the Felt F4 - you won't be disappointed.

I Have the EA90 SL's and they are great. Well worth purchasing.

Have a look at the Felt F4 - Ultegra SL 53/39T or compact 50/34, 25-11T Shimano RS-20 wheels. I got mine in January - very happy. R16000 - 17000.00 Upgraded wheelset to Easton EA 90 SL.

I'm using a cateye magnet as well - no problems.
