  1. Can't remember if I was actually hit or not - Garsfontein rd in Pretoria, August 2006 by a gentlemen that really didn't see me and really wasn't trying to mow down a cyclist (and that seemed to have gotten a bigger fright than I did). Gravel under my knee-cap and some cuts and grazes. Broken fork and trashed helmet.

    Ladies racing

I think Anke rides for Duravit now.
  3. Glad to hear you're ok and still with us Bateleur ...
  4. Wow - I've always avoided flying Kulula because for some reason I was worried about them man-handling my bike. Seems that I was wrong. Next time I'm booking Kulula.
  5. Barend - glad to hear you're ok! Sad to hear your bike isn't!! Also in PTA - was out cycling this morning and got the usual barrage of hooting, middle fingers etc. This is becoming ridiculous.
  6. That's a bit rough narra - I got them for about R11 at No Limits Sports Supplements in Pretoria.
  7. Try sending a mail to the above address.
  8. Uh no, been using it for a while, satisfied with it, just wanted to know if anyone had heard anything to substantiate what my runner-friend had said.
  9. Tried FIT - was starving about 30 minutes into the ride and had the shakes not long after that. Guess it just depends on the person.
  10. And not changing from Cytomax frensch - just wanted some info
  11. Thyolo - I can relate to that!!!
  12. The energy drink isn't that expensive if you work out the cost per serving - think its about R4.50 per bottle. The pre-formance, gels and recovery drinks are pricey (OK expensive) but they work for me. So no-one has heard anything about it being harmful to one's body?
  13. thewrightstuff@501.co.za - the distributor in Port Elizabeth. Very helpful guy who really knows how to use which products and when.
  14. Hi everybody. I've been using Cytomax energy drink and their gulp-and-go's and pre-formance and recovery drink - so basically everything - with good results and have always been quite happy with the product and from what I've read in other threads, so are most people that use Cytomax. I was chatting about nutrition with a friend who is a comrades runner and he says he's heard bad things about Cytomax and that it wasn't really good for you as in not just that it doesn't deliver on it's promises but that it could actually cause you harm. I've checked around the other threads to see if anyone had mentioned anything like this but can't find anything other than praise for Cytomax. I think its great - was just wondering if anyone else had heard anything about it being bad for you?

    Good or BAd

rad006 - what do you want to do? Road/MTB? Race/Fun-ride?
  16. DTswiss spoke nipples. If they'll work better than what I normally use then I'm willing to give them a try
  17. Folic acid, B-complex combo - can't remember the brand name right now.
  18. Personally - if I don't take iron supplements when I'm in heavy training then the doc wants to jump up and down because I get anaemic. And I eat properly - so for me, supplements are necessary but I do think that for some people it's just a diet thing.
  19. 1000m is my claim to fame. Really helped with my breathing (i.e. when I am chasing up a hill I don't get out of breath as easily - I still suffer though but now at least I can breathe evenly whilst suffering )

You still believe in Santa WHAT!! Are you telling me there's no Santa?!!??

    Shoes

Very hot looking shoes ... Wonder if I could convince Santa to make a second round?
  22. Ok - was just wondering why they start the ladies first and not the elite men for example?
  23. I've only done the H2H once a few years back. I remember Malcolm Lange won in just over 2 hours and then Anriette Schoeman took the ladies race in about 2h29. So if the start times are the same then the elite mens sprint was hot on the ladies sprint. Maybe it's for the crowd's entertainment - have the sprints coming in one after the other and not a long wait inbetween?
  24. Licensed ladies at 05h30 Which brings me to a question - any reason why the ladies start 25 mins before anyone else? We're going to get caught so why not just start us later then anyway?
  25. My nephew at about 6 years old was explaining what happens when the car gets stuck in the mud and you need to activate the diff-lock. "And then you press that button and it turns on the dickflop"
