  1. My sentiments exactly!! At least no-one was too badly hurt. I felt like turning around an go give him a GOEIE PAAR KLAPPE The best of all was, after my friend was taken away in the ambulance and we were walking back with her bike, another bunch came past and THE SAME THING HAPPENED!! Luckily the guy who got switched managed to stay upright and it looked like he only got a puncture - he must have still been plenty ticked off at having to carry his bike over the finish line. I mean really - is position 9831 and 2 whole seconds faster than the bunch that's dragged your backside around for 2 -3 hours that important? But this is not new - I think I've read rants on this topic after just about every race. End of rant ...

  3. I'm a game???!?
  4. Had a great club ride on Saturday - am finally getting back to the point where I can joke and chat while I'm riding instead of the steely pain-induced silence of the last couple of weeks. Sunday - didn't ride. Had such a good ride on Saturday that I didn't want to jinx it.
  5. Best Multiple-Personality Hubber??
  6. Best Anti-Rain Dance Hubber - Holy Roller (to be confirmed pending weather at the 94.7)
  7. Willie ... glad you're ok!!!

  10. 1.84 m tall and about 65 kg (when I'm super super fit it drops to about 63 kg - I'm not super super fit right now )
  11. Is ok Holy Roller - Bateleur is just jealous too.
  12. Oh please do Holy Roller - what would the Hub be without pics like that?? Just add some beer and they'll be perfect
  13. Aww don't say that Holy Roller ... its my big comeback ride
  14. Very yummy.
  15. Yep that's what worked for me. The more I kept at it the easier it was for me to maintain a high cadence.
  16. I found the IDT worked well to sort that out for me - low resistance, light gears and spin, spin, spin until I could keep my cadence up. That said - I now HATE my IDT and will never ever use it again
  17. Ok thanks Dirt Rider. Any idea when they resume? I would like to mentally prepare myself for the suffering
  18. Ok I know I should have been there but I missed the last ride at Zwartkops last night - was that it for the year or will there be a break and then start again soon? Does anyone know?

    Ryan Cox

I was so saddened when I heard about Ryan this morning. What a phenomenal cyclist and a phenomenal guy - he will be missed in cycling around the world. RIP Ryan - you're in a good place. My condolences to his family and friends.

  21. Ride with the club tomorrow morning at 07h00 - then going to the Highveld Horse Care Unit for the rest of the day. Sunday - looking at doing about 2 hours on the bike. Not sure how hard - will see how I feel.
  22. This just makes me so angry - apparently the puppy was naughty. Of course the puppy was naughty - PUPPIES ARE NAUGHTY but its part of their cuteness. I've helped out with various animal welfare organisations over the years and what people do to animals is shocking. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be determined by the way it treats its animals," - Gandhi
  23. Can only leave work at the earliest 15h00 so would never make it Wolverine ... but thanks anyway
