  2. We are 2-3 guys riding 3 times a week, usually up vissershok/tiekiedraai side. I think we might come check you out one morning. the crit sounds like fun. I come from plattekloof and my buddy from Edgemead
  3. I hate people who forward these hoax warnings as much as anyone, but this one is important! Send this warning to all of the men on your e-mail list! If a young lady comes to your front door saying she is conducting a survey on Rocky Mountain ticks and asks you to take off your clothes, do not do it! This is a scam; she only wants to see you naked! I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap now!
  4. both will work. the rimstrips just works better

  8. ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I agree, quite ironic. The fact that blades gives one an unfair advantage was swept under the carpet when it was time to run te able bodied olympics. Now that same "fact" has backfired on him, so no crying for him. He got outplayed....
  10. I am also a member. I would not neccesarily be keen on sharing the trails, main reason being safety. If we are blasting the trails and have to stop every now and then for runners, that would not be lekka. For me riding at meerendal is already a frustration because of the slower riders, and i spend all my time on the contermans/hillcrest side. I can only imagine having to deal with runners as well. That being said, if all runners give way to cyclists, it can work, but that is highly unlikely. I don't mind the runners, I enjoy trailrunning myself every once in a while. They have never bothered me on majic, cause the road is a little wider, but in technical singletrack it wont work I will now put on my flamesuit edit: poor spelling
  11. If you struggle , I am sure there will be plenty hubbers willing to help you out with your quest
  12. go lance, we still respect you
  13. Did you know that CWC handed out 270 bikes to needy kids in the last year ? How cool is that?
  14. I don't judge. some of these kids rely on this as the only transport in the house. So get involved and help your kids in Diepsloot out...
  15. yeak i feel you. I also suffer from compulsive online cycling buying disorder
  16. A while back I heard about kids that are cycling to school on a very busy road in Cape Town, and after 2 accidents where they got hit by cars, I started toying with the idea of getting them lights and helmets. A few phonecalls and emails to fellow cyclists later, and I had enough donations to buy some lights... One phonecall to Chris Jnr, and lights were sorted at a massively reduced cost. So, 80 lights later, I had a chat to Chris Snr about the possibility of getting helmets at a good price. Without any hesitation, he offered to help me out with helmets , and again I only had to contribute what I could, and they sponsored the rest! The result was that today, we were blessed enough to hand out top notch SH+ helmets and Sci-Con LED lights to kids that otherwise would not be able to afford it. Kids that rely on a bicycle for transport. All thanks to Chris Willemse Cycles ! In conclusion I learned a couple of things today: Not only are they (CWC) arguably - the best, - the largest, - the most customer orientated cycling shop in South Africa, but they are good kinds folks, they are fathers, husbands, brothers and sisters that care for those less fortunate around them. Chris Willemse Cycles is not about the money, it is about the PEOPLE. A massive thumbs up for them, and may we all learn from them   some pics

  23. i also pay it every year. I think it is a major accomplishment to complete this. i like the nature of the race. But with that price money, no wonder there are no big names there. the 2nd place prize at the local Greyton race was probably more :whistling:
  24. interesting that asg posts right after your comment . Proud sponor my ass. i would be ashamed
