  1. Listen, what a bunch of nice people at ASG, and helpfull ??? We needed Helmuts, glasses, gloves, cycling shoes etc, Not only did they have everything in stock, but in all the colours we wanted aswell. I recommend speaking to your LBS for the new season if you want kit as we did for our new sponsorship, and demanding product from these guys. You wont be wasting your time.
  2. Cannondales are great, pitty Omnico Distribute them. Omnico Suck, there JHB staff have a **** attitude.
  3. Who sells them in SA, I will try 1 out, Please post contact details and does it have a BB30 system or GXP ?
  4. I'm not too worried who posted it first, I just want someone to tell Derrick at Merida I want a 99 Soft tail Team Carbon in 61" ASAP. Please Frame only as a unit
  5. I can imagine one can see alot of fraud in this indistry especially with the economy as it was and still is, probably a reason for us not having insurance, but with this sort of action taken by Cyclesure, if its a marketing plan or just being a great company to deal with, i'm not sure. It sure woke me up to reality after a long period not even thinking of insurance and they will get a signature from me today. Again Thanx to Cyclesure
  6. I can assure you we dont, and still dont have any insurance contract with any insurance house, yes a chap by the name of Fred approached me and yes, Emotion Cycles have got the go ahead to repair all damadges, Dave at Emotion can confirm. And Yes, I will be filling out a contract as I requested an app. form because I could'nt believe it myself. I do believe it may be a marketing move on there side, and hell if it is, it worked for me. Viva Cycleure
  7. I would like to thank Cyclesure for approaching me at the XC Race at Fountains on Saterday, when Fred came across and said Cyclesure will assist in repairing my sons Soft tail that hit something on the single track long grass and broke his rear stays. I told him I dont have insurance, he said, take my card and send me a Qoute, Done this morning and approved and will be repaired by late tomorrow, leaving for MTN/Nissan on Thursday. Cannot believe I hav'nt had them on my stop orders long ago. Viva the Boks, Viva Cyclesure
  8. Second economic crunch on its way, they know something we don't.
  9. I do agree, but this is where the sport starts from and where we need to assist as passionate supportes of the sport. We must get this sorted out. I heard this morning that another two school series want to be started in Gauteng, how do we screw up a good thing, by letting this sort of thing happen. Deon has been involved for a number of years with this series and has done a fantastic job of it, lets support him. Is it possible the Fat cats want money but dont want to do the work, or am I wrong ?
  10. Howzit T CGC is probably the only Office that appears to be pro-active, thankx for their support, but the issue is that its not sanctioned by CSA. For this reason its not included and protected from the few that do want to do a series race as they may fall on the same dates as other series races and believe me, there are a few kids that are effected by this, then the new kids exposed to the sport via the school series is also needed to grow the sport. As for clubs, they should be scored on involvement and activity and anyone not being proactive should be banned from having the writes to a club membership affiliation. This may get to where CGC and GN should be, 1 central office, we may then be able to take on the KZN cycling and the like seeing we have the numbers in Gauteng but have too many uninterested clubs out there. Hey, effort equals reward. Some just have it and then some don't.
  11. What a fantastic race put on by Deon, Spur along with Anatomic, today must have been the most fantastic race my son has ever entered where 23 schools as far as Bloem( Grey College)and including Hartebeespoort High attending the race where it was held. 439 entries and "No" injuries or riders taking the wrong route. Now for the issue I have, Why does CSA or the regional clubs not recognise the High School event and sanction it? The local bike shop Trinity Cycles got involved assisting with track building, the local community got involved, the race went off on time, prize giving was spot on, 082 911 medics were on call, commisaire was great,Race orginisation was great, schools managers and kids had a ball, and most of all, I have never seen TEAM spirit like this at any event, Baring "95" World Cup. Does one know that the CGC and GN Regional XC race had no more than 50 kids entered this year at any of their XC races, Nationals were even worse when it came to entries but they are sanctioned. Does anyone on the Hub not have inroads into the MEGA Powers and educate them where the sport is going and where it starts for many new comers. I must admit, our new GN MTB Chairman was at the event today and showed some intrest, however I never managed to get a chance to speak to him regarding the above, but would love to have a chat and plead with the clubs to get this series included in the National calender. As a sport we need the numbers and today should open the eyes of many who seem to be wearing blinkers. After 4 years of school series growing in leaps and bounds, with fantastic sponsors, I commend the people in making this happen. Ride magazine even cover the racing with great Pic's and stories giving the kids hope of getting some sort of coverage, and hopefully sponsors for their future passion. Enough said, Now someone please get involved and Help the future of this beautiful sport. My son finishes school this year or I would get involed PS. They kept 439 kids out of the malls today.

  16. What size and how many SA Rondes R????
  17. Whats it going to take to get the five old ladies to do a great job for us cyclists, at this stage I'm sure they'll do a sterling job, If they can manage a battle like the SPCA, imagine how well they'll do for us. Big UP to they Girls
  18. Big up guys, lots of effort and it will bring rewards. Good luck to you all.
  19. What has happend to the National MTB series being split between FPC and CSA, if CSA cant make a simple ruling on who has the National series, how the hell can they manage regions and finance. Oh and I've heard Gauteng North MTB is also looking for about 250K that has been spent on everything but cycling, Why did the management also resign????
  20. Most are OK, Do it now sucks, they give away subscriptions for podium finishers and thats it, you never get it thereafter.
