You fall just as hard - no matter which - and no matter which rides better... I Have been riding my 29er since Oct last year ---- had my first real fall at Rietvlei Farm on Sun, still managed 25km, doing 2 loops, but Sun night I could hardly move, - Broken rib.. The diff hard to tell, I broke falling off my 26 too.....
Last bit finished yesterday - Leather hand stitched Loc On grips.. Com on where all the other Blinged - Choppers, low riders, beach cruisers?? I have found a new hobby besides irritating my wife, and blowing money on my Mountain bike... Now where can I get A Stingray - to rat up?????
They were popular about 4 years ago.. Didn't take off here in S.A. There are quite a few Eastern cycle mnf doing different variants of the Low rider... Using similar frame.. And different wheels and saddles.bars etc..
They ride like single speed... choppers.. Work well on flats and downhill... burn the legs on a uphill.. They are cruisers... just to hang around - and 'cruise' The one I have is a genuine mixed and matc - Chopper - meaning mixed up bits and bob from various bikes.. Frame and wheels are off the shelf.. Handle bars off a suzuki, stem off a BMX, lights off a dik wiel.. Saddle - ?? chain - std - cranks - BMX Customising them is the fun.. riding is also - but wouldnt suggest the 94.7 on one...
Yep, could not fit the bike on the couch.. so coffee table was next option I also put her together in the lounge, while my "wife" is overseas.. much warmer than the garage......... I did the spraying in the garage, tho...... Now I still have 5 days alone - left, - what to do???
Original stem was - "C*&%^$^- Replaced it with a good alu BMX stem.. Took her for a 5Km ride today.. Single speed - Choppers not for sissies.... My legs got a hectic - burning workout - hurt more than any 20 - 30 km Mtb ride.... Got lotsa - thumbs up while riding in my Sendra Boots Jeans and tee... Will paint her next week and post pics.. The ride is unusual - low sitting position - works the thighs - hard.. A real fun - cruising bike... .
Nope - its brand new ( had been locked up for a few years in the box in a garage,,,housing mice, rats etc... ) But I am bored, and my wife is overseas for a week So I want to EVIL her up.... the Chopper that is Maybe - by the time I start stripping her again - I will like the glossy orange.......
I picked this Chopper up for an absolute steal.. Put her together - Now - Im going to RAT - ROD her.. So will post pics, She arrived in this sad mouse eaten box as I strip her and change the Soft looking Chopper into Something EVIL... Looking very un chopper like in orange - after I put her together Now finally = Detail = Hand stitched leather grips - 6 hours of stitching...... Light and Tool kit "stolen" from - DIK WIEL - EL CHEAPO, BARS from a aold Yamaha .... Some other pics
