The rest of us who live around here really appreciate and enjoy the Modderfontein ride .. We need more but with crappy negative .. Uncalled for posts .. We stop the guys who can build these great rides from going the extra mile for all of us Who enjoy mtb... Modderontein is a great venue and keeps getting better ..

  12. I learnt alot about - the power of anger -- it got me most of the way... I usually dont do carbon on MTB - i got the bike "used" with the post and was too lazy and broke to buy the Thompson stuff which i do loooove -- Ive also got to replace the wheels -- ive done the shock - fork, brakes - saddle -- so now i spose its Thompson time -- I did DH - In the Cape until 2000 -- but going "Moer" fast down hill and pinching the bike between your legs for control --- is fun ====== This ride was - up hill -- round a hill, frikken up another hill , down a small hill --- through the gates of hell, back somewhere --- not really the kinda fun - I remember downhill to be -- But its all good and - makes MTB what it is --- every ride a new challenge and ---- No Limits - apply
  13. COULD not get the piece left out.... still cant --- its stuck quite tight and the break is splintered -- i did try -------- Stunned silence - nope just working ---
  14. i did and carried it home -- all the way ---
  15. I did the 35km Babas yesterday -- The ride, (race) started well - got into a group - just off the first pack who steamed away into the mud.. I was going well, and since this is my first decent - ride - race, since my recovery and bio kineticist -- sessions - I was feeling strong -- and at 18km -- i heard -- a crack and watched my seat post and saddle pass me -- Strange and luckyas i was not sitting on my saddle when the carbon seat post failed --- I was now stranded at half way -- i could ride back - without a post/saddle or push on the same way.. I pushed on -- the next two "hills" and 18km were the longest hardest I've ever riden -- I could not relax, My legs burnt so much at the end i was numb--- but I had to finish -- i walked every time i felt a cramp loom - I know have great respect for, saddles --- and the need for these ------ Strangly - today im still able to walk ----
  16. I'ts True Wife beats me on all things at the moment ------ sigh We were able to ride like a team, until -- she found her legs, and bling, and lighter "stuff"

  19. Hi Ive been off my bike for 4 months due to injured leg, and overdoing the speed of my recovery after -- dating to April (Broke it at Rietvlie) I was at the 24hour --- support crew for my wife and their team-- camping and riding --- heaven What a blast of a weekend --- they placed 3rd in mixed/open team --- big thumbs up to you all I missed riding my bike but I must follow on the biokineticists rules --- no mtb at all until Jan -- Was good to be with a group who could point out faces of Hubbers --- After the years on the hub -- now to see the "hubbers" in person - Ive bought and sold to many but never made contact at rides... Wendle --- what a great weekend -- big thumbs up man -------- was a great weekend for mtb....... I will ride it next year - no question --- well done to all the riders ---- The ss dudes --- man what do u guys eat --- no gears no sus and 49 or so laps -----

  23. Today - being my second last day - 'JOB LESS' - I decided to strip my Kogas original wheels down since the braking surface of the rims was shot, I started at 10H00 - removed the spokes and cassett, - the original Shimano hubs were - sad looking under a few layers of paint.. I used elbow grease - hot water and brasso, and at 14H00 - My Shimano hubs looked brand new.. I am looking to lace these puppies into some aero deep dish rims, - 36 spoke deep dish - seem to be scarce, If anyone has 2 - 36 spoke deep dish rims - I am looking to buy
