  1. I completed the TB over the weekend. After many hours of training my fitness levels are the best its ever been. Now I want to get stronger and faster. How should I go about my training also considering that I am now switching to road biking?
  2. My eerste een ook.
  4. Guys, I need some help. I am driving to Willowmore with my own car. Therefore leaving my car in Willowmore the Saturday. I have arranged for someone to take my car to Jeffreybay, but he's bailed on me. My team and support vehicle will also be in Jef's and will not be going past Willowmore when driving back home. Is there anyone here who's driving back to Willowmore sometime during Sunday or will there be transport back to Willowmore? Or any other ideas. Riding my bike back to Willomore is not an option
  5. Agree. And comes with interchangeable lenses. Perfect for MTBing.
  6. Thanks Thug. I had a look at the forum. I will stay with 3.2 for now.
  7. Has anyone done the firmware update from 3.2 to 3.7 on the forerunner 310xt and is it worth the effort? I usually like to wait that all glitches have been sorted on new software before updating.
  8. Thanks Thug, my next question was if I should upgrade to 3.7. I will keep 3.2 until further notice. I can already see that I am going to enjoy the 310xt a lot.
  9. I received my Garmin Forerunner 310xt this weekend and have uploaded my first Cycling trip to Garmin Connect. Can anyone please tell me how to get my data from the 310xt to Sporttracks, as I prefer the overall set up and functionality to that of Garmin Connect?
  10. I am doing my first TB this year. Well actually it will be my first real MTB endurance race. I was wondering, how difficult is it really? Compared to other well known endurance races like the Epic, Comrades, Iron man, Argus etc?
  11. Definitely the Spectra or Merida Matts lite 1000. Both great value for money.
  12. Also look at the merida matts lite 1000.
  13. Tread should consider going electronic like many other mags.
  14. Also try cardiotrainer. I find it better than endomondo

    Injuries

I cant ride this week, hopefully only this week, due to back injury and Im having withdrawal symptoms. it makes me wonder how professionals feel when they'r out for months due to injury.
  17. The same for me. During spinning I struggle to get up to 170, but on the road my max is 195.
  18. Guys thanks for all the advice. I will just keep on pedalling and enjoying then.
  19. Sounds good, but unfortunately 13 August is the weekend of the Trans Baviaans.
  20. I ve been MTBing for 2 months after only being a roadie for a number of years. I entered the 2011 Trans Baviaans. So my training consist of mainly long and steady paced rides without any technical stuff. This weekend I did my first off road race: hills, rocks, water, mud, more mud etc and I was absolutely stukkend afterwards. The race was only 40km! It gave my confidence a bit of a knock as Im used to doing double that quite often. For those who have done the TB, do you think its necessary to include more technical stuff in my training?
  21. I am also very new to MTB(2 months) and had the same choice a few month ago. Before only road cycling. My budget for a new bike was also about R11k. After some research I went for the Merida Matts Lite 1000D. It falls perfectly within your price range and has some decent components. It has so far not disappointed me.
