  1. OK the first thing is if there's evidence of design there must be a designer... or have I got it all mixed up? Do you know that the speed of light actually decreases? Then it could be that the world is 15 billion years old. There's a book written on it...can't recall the title now, but anyway. Einstein was brilliant-maybe the most brilliant & logical person & he believed. Back to topic we go...
  2. First off I have to say I like this thread. Some of it's really funny. I was offended more than a few times, but not too worry. I just feel sorry for people that believe that everything (eventhe universe) happened by accident... First there was nothing... & then it exploded & viola... here we are... What a load of ****
  3. Thanx for the reply- I'm having the Reba on my hard tail & it would be the recon that I was thinking of putting on my 120 500D for an upgrade. Do you service the MM shocks yourself?
  4. Hi all, I want to buy a soft tail bike & my conclusion (which is biased a bit) - Merida 120 500D (which I will just upgrade the front fork to air) or the 900D. I'm not too worried about the components as I'm not gonna race seriously with it. Just fun riding & fun race riding. Thing is what I want to know: if I opt for the 900D (which will be fitted with a Manitou Minute fork) How does the Manitou Minute fork compare to the Rockshox Recon in terms of: Easy servicability Spares & overall durability Or should I opt for the 500D & just replace the fork instore with either Manitou Minute or RockShox Recon? Thanx in advance JB
  5. Thanx all for your inputs. I'll cut it to size that fits me, but will leave just a little for headset / spacer change.
  6. Hi hubbers, I've recently fitted a Rockshox Reba RLT to my Merida Matts TFS 300 which is a medium. I know the longer a steerer is the more value it has whenever you want to re-sell, right? I've only cut off like 4cm from the original length which is 265mm. Atm. it's setup with headset, spacers, stem & spacer again. Now the question is how long is the steerer in most cases when it's cut for a large frame? I don't like the setup as it is now, but I think I've found the right height for my riding & I want to slash off as much as possible to minimise the spacing on top & not too much so that I lose too much value. Thanx JB
  7. Thanx for that hillipV! Will do so.
  8. Hey hubbers! I just wanted to know whether all the Rockshox Reba's are convertable from 100mm travel to 120mm travel by removing the spacers? Not too sure when I want to do this, but was thinking to wait until the warranty has passed. Thanx JB
  9. Any new news on these forks? Apparently the older models had hassles with oil leaking etc. Anyone uses the new models? J
  10. Hi hubbers!!! I'm considering to upgrade my hard tail MTB with an air shock. I weigh 90kg's & will be doing some off road riding & maybe later some harder downhill & trails (but not enough to opt for a dualie) Now the 2 Q's I have is: Which of the 2 forks will be the best to buy? I mean is it worth it to pay R1500 extra for a Rockshock? What travel will be suitable for my purpose? 120mm or shopuld I go to 140mm? Thx J
