  1. Ahhh, brings back memories… my friend suggested I use a camel back on my first big cycling event but she message me this at the last minute - day before. Somehow during the event I manage to rip the lid off with my teeth and lost it…so I had to cycle with the stupid pipe in my mouth because it was still very full and I didn’t want my juice to leak out. Totally forgot i need to buy a new and decent one. Thanks to whoever bumped this thread.

  3. Hahaha I LOVE it when I manage to catch my songs on the radio early hours of the morning when I'm on my way to gym... Pumps me up and road so quiet. Just me, my song, empty road and sunrise
  4. I'm enjoying that song "Gabriel" ( I think that's the name of the song o.O) I manage to catch it on the radio the other morning. Grabrieeeeellllll It was a very special moment in my car.
  5. I'd rather half arse it and still sound like a lady, no sheman growls from me :S There's a sheman running around at my gym who sounds very manly. Off topic: insomnia sucks.

  8. I mix my toes up a bit…I have big legs (have my dad’s legs in thickness but luckily they not short like his thanks to my ma) so I am a lil scared about building them up too much. Hahaha, only cause the other two machines feel awkward – bum in the air and the sitting one I just can’t seem to sit right on it. Something just feels wrong when I do the sitting one. Sorry, I don’t know the names of the machines. Will get the names tonight. Hmmmm, I have arms tonight but think I’ll throw in calves as well if I have enough time. Your routine looks like fun. You’ve opened a can of worms…I may be messaging you sometime soon for a few more routines. I’m getting a lil bored with mine but will change it in May.

  10. Yep, I do standing calf raises. I think its 92kgs…90 something… I do one or two other machines for the calves but standing one my favourite. Hmmmm, I think there’s definitely room for improvement with my hamstrings…so will focus on hammies…
  11. Even for the people who have never sat on a bike in the bush? I’m keen…I’ll need to borrow a bike but I’ll probably be able to organise one from a mate if she can’t come…but will try get her to come, i need someone to hold my hand when i get scared...probably *** myself Def keen.
  12. Hahaha, well right now I don’t have my own family to get home to and I’m single…so gym keeps me busy after work. All the regulars go just as often as I do, so they my own lil family. :S cramps in the calves are painful!!! I used to get cramps in my toes during my school swimming days but they weren’t nearly as painful as calves.
  13. I haven’t had a bad cramp in a while… I had that one take for about an hour after gym and I recall waking up in the middle of the night with an attack – both legs. So I started taking multi vit, mags etc seems to be ok, just now and again I feel the odd twitch, but I will get it checked out if it gets worse again. So far seems all ok… touch wood. My heart? Thanks.
  14. Obsessed with pills or working out? I take daily vitamins but only just recently started because I was suffering with my calves. For gym/training just whey and glutamine. I don’t gym with energy juice, I use water. I keep those sachets for when I cycle. As for weight training, yes I train 6 days a week when It comes to weights but every day I work a different body part. I know what I’m aiming for and besides I enjoy working out.
  15. Who knows…you always hear this and that…it’s the same as gym…low weights high reps/short reps high weights. Whatever you think works best for you… Speaking of pills…

  17. So I did a strength spin class with that lady last night and you guys were correct with the push and pull. Now next week I’m going to ask her why she wears a cap during spin. This morning I planned on doing my own spin session, I had my music and lil routine set out and before I even placed my bum on the saddle, the dude next to me all, ‘’hey, you must be new here, I haven’t seen your face here before…’’ (I’m fairly new to the Westville gym…I’ve been going there since Feb but mostly swimming pool or spin class…haven’t modelled around the gym just yet…) So I didn’t get a chance to listen to my music and do my spin session in peace. I didn’t mind too much but I can’t have talkie talk every morning.I did try to drop a few hints by placing music back in my ears, but then he would still try get my attention by turning and looking at me and I mentioned ‘’busy training for a cycling event’’ him, ‘’ya, your legs look strong looking.’’ Will need to be more direct and firm next time. I didn’t wake up this morning at 4:45am to chit chat. I want to get my groove on.
  18. I live by the ocean as well but Indian Ocean....so can train in the ocean but eh won't be cold enough. hahaha, well i have enough fat on my body...but if i need to stock up on chocolates for a lil extra...then so be it...torture ;p
  19. I'm not worried about the sharks...just the cold water :S Hmmmm, maybe i should spend a good few days in a bath tub filled with ice... Have a year to train...winter on its way...will see...maybe go up to the berg in winter and swim in a river for about 3 hours...eh, will read into it and see what i should do in order to get my body ready for the cold water. I'm a lady, we always have extra fat on our bodies
  20. I saw some of the photos on Facebook, i see a few people just swam in normal costume. I'm not too sure if i want to swim in a wetsuit...i prefer to look like me and not a seal!   21. Oh ya, the sharks haven't been doing too well this season. Every week the guy ask me if i eat Futurelife and then he informs me that he knows the owner. Sorry, im an oats girl.
