  1. Thats the nice thing about this Strider. It comes with a pedal kit. Granted they will probably not be pedaling on it for long but it does extend the life a little.
  2. Here we go. Can’t wait to give it to him tomorrow. Just need to swap the brake levers around somehow.
  3. I used to love my Silverback. Would still have one if their UAE distributor bothered to reply.
  4. I have the same combo and love them. Prefer them to the DHF and Aggressor I had.
  5. Haha! Awesome guys!! I’ve been trying to cone up with a GG inspired name for a balance bike but I can’t swing any bands name into a name for a balance bike. I found this site and while they have cool stuff I can’t get it here. https://wildchildbikes.com Our two year old is also a little giant and grows so quickly I don’t think he will be on the 14” for long. The cool thing about this Strider is you get a crank set with it so as soon as they balance lekker he can peddle it. I had a lag at him the other day. Well it was a proud moment rather. ALL he wants to watch id “fietsie” videos when the tv is on so he sees a lot of the freeride stuff I enjoy watching. At playgroup he took their bike and carried it onto the little plastic castle they have, the one end has a slide, before I could help he was already riding down it. It did not go smooth but he got down. I can’t wait to give him his bike, luckily his birthday is next Wed so not long to wait.
  6. Howzit guys. I’m probably going overboard but I just got my son a Strider 14X. Already looking too upgrade bits and bobs but struggling to find 14” tires online (I’m in Brunei). I’ll be in SA over December and thought maybe I could get some better than the stock tires there and then convert it to tubeless when we are back here. or is tubeless a poef idea? I’m just not lus to sukkel with tubes. Have any of you pimped their kids bikes? I was thinking to get some matching bars and grips. Maybe bigger pedals with better grip, he will have shin pads so his legs won’t look like mine.
  7. I used send my bag when I was sending my bike all over the show. They were the cheapest but that was pre covid. I have used the Billion company a few times now and once my bike was in the box and they charged us around 8k from jhb to Brunei.
  8. I had a similar feeling with my bike. Did as you are describing wrt rebound on my shock (dpx2) and added a volume spacer to my Lyrik (RC2) Bike feels really good now.
  9. Man that is a cool little bike!! While I’m all for the N+1 rule we won’t have space to fly the bike back.
  10. Hi everyone. We will be home for the Dec holidays and I’m looking to rent a balance bike for my son for the duration of our stay (the whole December). I don’t want to buy one because I have nothing to do with it once we leave. Has anyone got one or know of some place where I could rent one? Ps. He is on a size 14 or 14” balance bike. Thanks for your time.
  11. I have a 11 spd NX setup on my bike. I don't mind it but I wish I could get away with converting my bike to a SS. The shifting works but it is not lekker. I had 11spd XT at a stage and it also did not feel good, was also often jumping and skipping. That's why I went over to SS, was nice and simple. I'm not having a dig at 11 spd, just gears in general. I'm now looking at the GX AXS just because the gears and the amount of cables are irritating me. Seems like the gears might still be an issue but then at least the bike will look a bit more tidy.
  12. Hahaha! Thanks. The jersey gets mixed reviews.
  13. Will do. I have done 215km on the Hans and the MM but the trails here are hard packed and sandy with the odd root. Not much that can puncture or damage the tire. I have had no issues thus far. They roll much better than my dhr and dhf combo and the grip feels a lot better. I had my MAXXIS on for about 1500km according to Probike garage so I’ll see how these get on.
  14. I know it is not steel but I honestly don't think there is a better bike. I love mine so much it should be frowned upon.
  15. Dis hoe ek voel oor my Magic Mary. Ek het wel nog nie die Assegai probeer nie maar toe ek bande nodig gehad het kon ek nie een opspoor nie. Nou weet ek nie of ek sommer weer gou MAXXIS sal gebruik nie...
  16. Used the goggles for the first time the other day. The anti fog is AMAZING, good ventilation and super comfortable. Thanks https://www.gravityhub.bike/
  17. Ja man. I used to own only one until I lost it... Now I have them packed in everywhere.
  18. You don't realise the value of those valve adapters until you need one at a garage.
  19. Nice to see the actual lens. I'm still on the fence tho. Not sure why as the lenses you and Duane have posted look good and you guys sound happy. Maybe I'll give one a try.
  20. I was about to say this. I personally have not used the vibrocore bars but have not heard anything bad.
