  1. Hi everyone. I recently got a bakkie and it came with one of these: https://www.aeroklas.com/product/18436/deck-cover-speed I'm sure I can use a tailgate pad but the thought of driving with this thing half open sort of irks me. Has anyone got something similar with a bike rack on it or maybe a roof rack that could fit on it? I'm just fishing for ideas here. Thanks
  2. This makes me sad. I really enjoyed riding there.
  3. Ja that's why I got him onto a balance bike straight away, I did not want to go through the whole side wheel thing. I need to get my bike up and running so he can follow me around again.
  4. This makes sense. Thanks Hayley.
  5. I consider myself quite proficient at stuff and I store mine half way up or halfway down. The main reason is I ride a 27.5er and it is kind of half way so that is my running theme. My rear tire is currently deflated and my front is at 25psi so technically my tires are at 12.5psi. Half half balances things out. Sorry halfway through this I forgot what I was on about.
  6. True. His balance bike has brakes on already and you can remove the foot stand or foot plate (Not sure what to call it) and then attach the cranks so, he will be on this bike for a while. He is pretty confident but as you say it is a lot to take in at the same time.
  7. Lekker to read all the stories and see the pictures. When did you guys move your kids to a pedal bike? I was thinking as soon as my son can use the brakes I'll put the pedals on because he is using his feet to stop at the moment.
  8. We went to the skatepark over the weekend but I think he might have been a bit intimidated by the sounds or the people. We had fun riding around the Radio controlled car track and then went for a walk on a little bush path. I'm thinking of getting a bmx for the park as my bike does not play nice there, maybe if he sees me riding there he won't feel as intimidated.
  9. Hahaha! Thats awesome! Ours is also adventurous by nature and likes to “do” the tricks he sees on the youtube videos. I’ll take him to the skatepark this weekend as the pumptrack is so poorly maintained it is not ridable.
  10. Nice to read some of the "riding" stories. I was planning on taking my son (2 and a bit years old) to the local pump track for the first time. I have never been there but when we arrived and saw the state of it I decided it is best to just "ride" on the footpaths in the park that surrounds it. He cruised along for about 10min until we spotted the 1st lizard. From there on out I was carrying his bike and checking for snakes, Lizards and all sorts of other critters. Was a fun day out.
  11. Thanks man! They are pretty sweet.
  12. Braam is QUICKLY getting the hang of his bike. Super chuffed!
  13. Made me think of this thread. Always nice to have options.
  14. He is quite about it tho.
  15. I thought you CT okes were rustig and what not.
  16. Thats the nice thing about this Strider. It comes with a pedal kit. Granted they will probably not be pedaling on it for long but it does extend the life a little.
  17. Here we go. Can’t wait to give it to him tomorrow. Just need to swap the brake levers around somehow.
  18. I used to love my Silverback. Would still have one if their UAE distributor bothered to reply.
  19. I have the same combo and love them. Prefer them to the DHF and Aggressor I had.
  20. Haha! Awesome guys!! I’ve been trying to cone up with a GG inspired name for a balance bike but I can’t swing any bands name into a name for a balance bike. I found this site and while they have cool stuff I can’t get it here. https://wildchildbikes.com Our two year old is also a little giant and grows so quickly I don’t think he will be on the 14” for long. The cool thing about this Strider is you get a crank set with it so as soon as they balance lekker he can peddle it. I had a lag at him the other day. Well it was a proud moment rather. ALL he wants to watch id “fietsie” videos when the tv is on so he sees a lot of the freeride stuff I enjoy watching. At playgroup he took their bike and carried it onto the little plastic castle they have, the one end has a slide, before I could help he was already riding down it. It did not go smooth but he got down. I can’t wait to give him his bike, luckily his birthday is next Wed so not long to wait.
  21. Howzit guys. I’m probably going overboard but I just got my son a Strider 14X. Already looking too upgrade bits and bobs but struggling to find 14” tires online (I’m in Brunei). I’ll be in SA over December and thought maybe I could get some better than the stock tires there and then convert it to tubeless when we are back here. or is tubeless a poef idea? I’m just not lus to sukkel with tubes. Have any of you pimped their kids bikes? I was thinking to get some matching bars and grips. Maybe bigger pedals with better grip, he will have shin pads so his legs won’t look like mine.
  22. I used send my bag when I was sending my bike all over the show. They were the cheapest but that was pre covid. I have used the Billion company a few times now and once my bike was in the box and they charged us around 8k from jhb to Brunei.
