  1. Thanks guys. My lbs here has given me so sweet discount on this Marin and it ticks all my boxes. Just want to get some better tires and possibly a tubeless setup.
  2. FFS! I'm so indecisive with this bike purchase. How bad are coaster brakes? He is used to braking with his levers. I don't want to ruin his riding and also he likes to practice to fakey at the skatepark.
  3. We are... You should see his class photo. Always makes me chuckle.
  4. Ja flip. We went to a resort around here and they had playstations in the kids games room… So I downloaded rocket league for them but fortunately they lose interest quickly.
  5. Ja good grief! Same with shoes... His 14" bike lasted him two years so I'm hoping he grows at a steady pace but like you say they have these spurts and 2 weeks later they are 5cm taller and have chest hair.
  6. They have the precaliber in a ss and a geared option. I was thinking mine would do the same. Maybe the first week he will fool around with them but from there he should be able to get the hang of it.
  7. Mine is 114 cm at the moment and weighs around 26. I did not realize how big the 24” is until I had him on it 😂 I’m also thinking I should get the best within reason because he will definitely be on it for a few years.
  8. Hahaha! Yea I went looking by myself and the 20” looked too small. Put him on a 24” and saw that it might be a little big 😂
  9. Pretty bleak at the moment. Well for my son’s sale. Took him to the lbs just to look at bikes and make sure of the size before we buy his and turns out the Roxter is too big. I was sure he would fit on a 24” but it is a little to big. so… They have a poef nice Giant stp 20” bike but I can’t justify the price for a kids bike. So now it is between the Scott Scale inr and the Trek pre Caliber. the Trek is $250 cheaper bit is still single speed and feels flimsy. My question to the guys who have been through this size and age with kids is: Is it worth it to spend a little more on a bike with 7 gears and a better feel ito build quality? My boys live riding and the bike takes a fair bit of abuse so I want something that can last for a year or two until he outgrows it but I don’t want to hinder any progression either. Am I over thinking this? Edit: He is 4 so I’m actually thinking to go with the Trek. Think gears might be too much of a distraction.
  10. Thats awesome!!
  11. Hey AgentFlash I was stoked when looking at the specs of the bikes and the fork is being described as set up for kids. I’m glad I read up about it. Because it seems that like you say it is just for aesthetics.
  12. Any new anything the last few years in our house has been for the kids 😂 Worth it tho. A pic of both of the boys heading into the forest. These Stryder bikes have been amazing. My youngest was adement to pedal his brother’s bike so I put his cranks on his bike and a few tries later he was going on his own. Granted his pedal powered go cart probably also played a role i how quick he got the concept, these bikes teach them to balance so quickly.
  13. Awesome!! I’m keen to see how he gets on with gears. I take my boys on the tame trails here and they love it. Can’t wait to see what this bike does for his riding. One month from today till his birthday, I can’t wait 😂
  14. He is still riding his Stryder 14” bije but it looks like a clown riding a bike 😂 He has really outgrown it now. He is used to riding rigid so I think the higher volume tire will already add a lot of comfort. Besides it is his favorite colour. A pic of him at the skatepark.
  15. These are the two that are available here. I wish the fork was air but it is coil and from what I have read it is a bit too hard for kids to really benefit from having a fork. I have seen those Titans and they really are nice bikes! We don’t have too many options here, either the Scott or the Trek but I’m leaning towards the Roxter. https://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/product/scott-roxter-24-bike-green?article=286620222 https://www.scott-sports.com/global/en/product/scott-scale-24-disc-bike-silver
  16. Thats true. I’m on my 3rd Fenix 3 at the moment so this will also be something that I use for a long time so I’m going to have to be sure.
  17. Hey Chris. This is interesting. I read reviews about the Sunto fork on the Scale and nobody has anything good to say. The Roxter has high volume tires so I am also thinking that they could dampen enough of the chatter? We mainly ride at the skatepark and the trails we ride would be fine on a Rigid fork also. I just want the ride to be most comfortable and problem free. And also I don’t want maintenance issues etc cause he rides daily and would be pretty bleak if his bike is gone for a few days.
  18. Hey guys. New bike day is around the corner for my son. Currently looking at the Trek Precaliber, the SCOTT Scale 24 disc and SCOTT Roxter 24. They are pretty much specced the same but the Scale has a better crappy fork and the Roxter is specced the same as the scale but is Rigid. I think getting him the Roxter would be best and then later buying a proper 50mm fork or something.
  19. That's good to hear! I'm still on the fence between the Enduro and the Fenix Solar though. I just like the look of the Fenix more but I don't need the extras.
  20. How is the strap on it? I'm also opting for it because I hate charging stuff and I'm never going to talk to my watch or dive. But the strap is looking kind of poef. Suppose I can quickly google replacement straps for it.
  21. I hear you. I just don’t like it when things on my bike are not 100% as they should be. It is poef but, it irritates the dinges out of me. And now that Bob was staring at my sweet nips I have more problems 😂
  22. Hey SSCC. I can’t find the add. Are they 27.5?
  23. Hahaha! The lbs bent it back into “shape”. I could be a bit over dramatic 😂 Just don’t want it tacoing under me.
  24. Going to be a few months. Have other financial obligations (new rotors and pads). But I will as soon as they get here. Just wish they had green.
  25. Pic of the whole rim if that helps. there is no crack.
