Condolences to the families

Hi GeorgeV, there are a few groups of riders including myself who ride on a regular basis from Rhodes Memorial gate through to town in the mornings and back in the afternoon. The one group starts at 05:45am and cycle back to town at about 16:30pm, that would be on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Then there is another group from Table View who meet up with another group from SS at Rhodes Memorial gate at 06:30 then there is a few including myself who cylce back in the afternoons. People to contact would be Hairy and Meezo good luck and let me know as I am looking for riding partners in the afternoon from town at about 17:45 to Rhodes Memorial.

Haha... I know, trust me I am not here looking to start a argument or rant. I simply came here to thank those who pulled over whilst my nephew and I were coming down the single track. We never expected it, like you said it came down to common sense and the discretion of the guys coming up the single track. All in all a very good ride and thanks again to those chaps who pulled over. Much appreciated and its something that I have been showing my nephew. Simple smile and thank you goes a very long way!

So the rider coming down the single track will need to break, dismount his bike and let the guy cycling up the single track continue and only then the guy coming down is allowed to carry on going down?

Not 100% sure, but I always insist on riding up the jeep tracks then back down the single tracks just to be on the safe side. We passed ppl coming up the Mamba and the Boomslang!

My nephew and I were riding in Tokai on Sunday, I must mention that on a number of the single track sections whilst we were coming down. Riders coming up were all pulling over to allow us to enjoy the single track and not have to worry about stopping. So to those fellow riders who pulled over to the side and allowed us to pass through without stopping coming down the single track, THANK YOU VERY MUCH :-) you made the ride just that much better

How can one work out how much to top it up by? Half in each tube?

How often should one replace the slime in the tube, once a month, can one keep using the same tube or if there a life span on the tube itself?

Don't judge a book by its cover, in fact I am so chilled that I am currently on my balcony at home enjoying this fantastic weather. Think the person who needs to relax is you, no need to shout, ever heard of freedom of speach? Fact, and quote "But, you'd be a lot more careful and less reckless if you knew there was no chance of getting rescued quickly." Weather I am reckless or not, you don't have the right to tell me otherwise!

Sorry, but if I am paying for medical aid every month the least that I can expect is to be air lifted out of any situation where I could die. I have all the right to use my medical aid scheme as I please, what gives you the right to tell me otherwise?

How can anyone put a price tag on someone's life! 8k/h, 16k/h or whatever the amount is compared to a family loosing a loved one, whatever it takes to get someone out of accident scene back to the hospital should be done!

Shame, I could imagine how your son must feel. Will keep my eyes open at the second hand stores!

Sorry to hear about what happened. I noticed on my way to work this morning from the Cape Town train station that there was a suspicious looking character riding a full suspension Giant, silver/black/grey. Was your son's bike a full suspesion? Cheers
