  1. some more paid for advertising: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/general/158827-discovery-vitality-reducing-activity-goals-after-backlash.html
  2. 20km/h is alot for mtbing. If i push HARD i can get 17-18 on a flattish course.
  3. not what i meant...i meant because they have this deal with apple they wont be able to offer any other devices...soon hence why we that want something other than apple crap cannot get it through them.
  4. So they sold their souls to the devil and now we are paying for it.
  5. Looks like the unlink relink worked, 3k points for saturday! and this is not using strava - discovery.
  6. After helderberg last year i will be giving this one a skip. See you in Grabouw. http://www.trailseekerseries.co.za/trailseekerseries/westerncape/trailseeker1
  7. I think GC will only show their own devices...dont know. But my upload from strava on saturday (manual upload because i have a bryton) went to al my other platforms i sync to using tapiriik but it does not go from garmin to discovery. Unlinked now and re-linked again from discovery. Maybe that works...
  8. BTW does this actually work? I tried this for my ride yesterday. Delinked strava on disco and everything pulled through to garmin but i checked this morning and my activity is not in disco. Even though it says my garmin account was synced at 4am.
  9. There was a post on FB saying trails closed untill monday, meerendal and hoogies if i am not mistaken.
  10. I am getting soooo excited for this. And i am just going to sit on the couch and watch it...imagine how they guys thats doing it must feel.
  11. People, scroll a few posts/pages back, a workaround will be revealed. strava - tapiriik - garmin connect - vitality
  12. If you dont claim it discovery just does not pay for it...
  13. hahaha i wonder if disco sees these comments and then sit around a table and laugh at us?
  14. these both points brings me back to what i have been saying, disco is at fault.
  15. i have a bryton unit. you refering to apple phone or watch when training. ek neem aan horlosie. The main factor that most poeple get wrong, the apple watch is a SMART WATCH that can do fitness tracking. Its not a fitness device. If you want a fitness device get a fenix or ambit.
  16. How many users does strava have? On android alone the downloads are between 5-10MILLION!!!! so lets say double that for iphone and web only users (like me) lets call it 10mil to be on the safe side. From what i can remember disco said they have 130k+- users on vitality rewards. Lets say two thirds uses strava and we down to 85k users that will be affected. So you say that a company must set aside developer / testing / upgrade time to cater for a group of people less than 0.0085% (if my maths are correct) of their user group. Doubt it, i would also like them to add it but yeah we dont cater for so little percentage.
  17. So i got an apple watch but i dont wear it when i go out cycling, i just dont believe in carrying a 15k phone when i cycle alone (most of the time) and carry a alcheapo just for emergencies. I use a bryton rider 50. And for me to get the same functionality out of a lets say a garmin will cost me upwards of 7k. Why spend that money when mine works perfectly. Then i rather pay the 5k watch which works out cheaper. Why didn't they say anything in their press release regarding trying to contact strava to get something working (the same they did with suunto and fitbit) why just say no? and here is my theory, its because they "believe" too many people are cheating, i think they did crap analysis and now sitting to fork out millions.
  18. mapmyfitness-hole can mean something completely different to some people.
