  1. Well done Chris Froome, I hope your legacy 'lasts forever'.
  2. Although his time up the Mont apparently relatively dawdling. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/blazin-saddles/ventoux-rendez-vous-froome-broom-wagon-070117865.html
  3. I've done a search and not found this anywhere! After Froome's ride up Mont Ventoux yesterday I started wondering how his 'time', 'speed' up the Mont compared with past TDFs. Came upon this: http://velonews.competitor.com/2013/06/news/new-report-presents-data-driven-doubts-on-performances-past-and-present_290708 Certainly makes one think.
  4. and he'll overexploit it and strip the ocean.
  5. Walkerr Despite Johnny Nel's assurances above, I'd be very, very careful of OS. I had a claim once, OS paid out 60% of the value. I wanted to know why and despite 10s of phone calls, e-mails, letters (YES EVEN OLD FASHIONED LETTERS) etc etc, I still have had nothing in writing from OS, NADA!!!! They just ignored me.
  6. Hope it gets all sorted. Business aint what is used to be, that's for sure
  7. nice stash, hope yo got it
  8. ???? Now how did my post get into/onto this thread?????
  9. seems to me rhinos are more important than some mother grundy attitude. Bugger it, I won't ride either.
  10. http://gizmodo.com/this-man-has-collected-200-years-of-beautiful-odd-and-509703918 Interesting that all the laws relating to bicycles were promulgated when there were more bikes and horses than cars .... and they were faster than cars. Makes you think, I hope!
  11. Unfortunately reinforces a perception. Wonder who's to blame for the perception????

  13. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ same as laws in nasti germany and aparthate sa, or were they all CORRECT laws too?
  14. Perhaps it's the behaviour of the cyclists when they are driving their cars? I've certainly seen some very poor driving by people with bikes in racks, presumably cyclists. If we don't 'behave', how on earth do we expect others to?
  15. ++++++ at last someone with the courage to write what a lot of us do these days. GOOD ON YOU SIR I've been riding (as in road racing) for 40 something years and I've been knocked off my bike twice in that time. Luckily, neither time was too serious. In '87 an army dude ran into me(early in the am, he said the sun was in his eyes) and I somersaulted over the bonnet and roof. This 'accident' stopped me from doing the Durbs Iron Man, but apart from the wasted months of training and the damage to my bike I was OK. The second time was a little more serious, did some damage to my knees and my bike was a write off, but again I came off fairly lightly. But, the point is, I was bl......dy lucky both times! For me the major point is that rules for cyclists were made 150 years ago, when things were very, very different, cyclists were a threat to pedestrians, so were required to ride on the left. Cars were few and very slow. Nowadays, there are 11.5 million (registered) vehicles on our roads. Cars are much, much faster and surely it's time to rethink these rules for bicycles????? I feel safer riding against the traffic, there are still the idiots that ride in the yellow line, I'm just glad that I can now see them and avoid them. WELL DONE SINGLE TRACK, I'M ON YOUR SIDE.
  16. are you a priest? Perhaps his confession.
  17. can happen anywhere. example Bradley Wiggens. I've been riding in England when some tosser turns in front of you. Hit the 'turkey', but luckily I'm not that fast.
  18. But it's still up you. If you don't break the road law, you're probably saving a life. You can't change the a... holes, but you can change you.
