  1. Perhaps I am wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me. But if weight limit per wheel is 95kg, that's 190kg for both wheels. Check on you motorcar's tyres, they all have a weight limit, very few of which are more than 1/2 your loaded car weight. Are does it not work that way? If not, I'm in BIG trouble with my wheels! edit: once upon a time I was a prop!
  2. If you live in the UK, I think Wiggle is good, returns are easy, they even pay for them! But from here, not so good, because of returns. I've bought plenty from them while in the UK and a few times from here (no I live here). Overall they've been pretty good, but there have been some stuff ups. Trouble is most of the stuff ups have been with orders from here, so a real pain in the A. But, they should refund your transport costs. If you paid by PayPal, use them.
  3. There are quite a few cheap UK online shops Wiggle Ribble Wheelies Merlin UK Bike Shop Planet X Wheelbase Evans Also check out Ebay and Amazon, Ebay often has stuff cheaper than CRC Use Google, there are quite a few I've not even mentioned.
  4. In your humble opinion??? Perhaps not in mine, nor that of many others. edit grammar.
  5. Not justifying CWC's inability to correctly show stock on the www, but the root cause might be the 'importer'. I believe there's a massive problem with Shimano parts at the moment. I know shops that are importing Shimano stuff from CRC, just to keep customers happy!
  6. FFS can't believe what I'm reading. Obviously too much $ and too little grey. Good coffee and a good percolator. Good coffee = R200 / kg Good percolator = R450
  7. My Super frame, serial No: 1L622, I think it's about 1985/6. It came with Dura Ace 7400 8spd SIS, which came out in 88 I believe. Anyway, I'm changing it to C Record and I put the DA on the Battaglin.
  8. Thanks Lc How's the Nag build coming?? I'll take a pic of my super frame and post it here, you can compare. Found an interesting poster http://popchartlab.c...ion-of-bicycles edit was removing a name!
  9. I like the black, but I think a tan/beige saddle and bar tape might go better with the red detailing.
  10. But, yeah, I like the saddle, but I think the yellow will go better with something else and cream or tan/beige might be better on the Battaglin. Amazing how helpful the factory is though, compared to MOST others!!!
  11. Was looking at a TVT on eBay last night, drooling. Wishing I had £350 and a way to get it here!!!!
  12. Aren't there some pages missing from this thread, or is there another similar one????? Advice please, from those of you with more artistic genes (doesn't take many) than me. Just finishing off this early Battaglin, factory says between 1981 and '86. I've fitted Dura Ace 7400, from late '80s. It's been sort of chromed, not a shiny chrome, like the forks, but a matt chrome. The decals are a sort of red/maroon and I've added some red detailing to the frame and I've done a sort of black outline to the lugs. See the pics. I quite like it. BUT...... what colour bar tape?? I was thinking of doing a beige leather, but my taste is k..k, just ask the women (who were) in my life!!! So, your help, please. WHAT COLOUR TAPE OR LEATHER??? Maybe I should change the saddle???
  13. Scary, not a nice experience, happy that you came out of it healthy and perhaps wiser (and thanks for helping make us wiser). I agree with those who've said report it to the cops and then go your insurance. I agree too with those suggesting some sort of tightening up on HUB security, whether by admin or ourselves .... maybe a thread/section where prospective buyers / sellers can ask for references from other bubbers. I know this is supposed to be what the ratings are for, but they're easily gippo'd.
  14. I chose the bike, now I have lots of them!
  15. Although I love the steel, this is my 'long' ride steed.
  16. OK, they're all my favourites, but here's a recent addition.
  17. I have too many bikes to post pictures here, sorry guys (most of them are steel, though). But you all have some very, very nice ladies. For the Bianchi fans, I've just received this: https://docs.google....eWF5NXQ4LXc6MA
  18. Bump Further funding needed?????
  19. Firstly, it's nice to hear of a 15 year old enjoying the sport and even nicer to hear your winning. But, it's always a good idea to leave a good thing alone. Don't try to fix something that is working, most often it stops working! In other words, if you are winning, don't change anything, just keep winning. If you stop winning, then try something different, but small changes at a time, so you can keep track of what works and what doesn't.
  20. Very, very good story. Thanks, I loved it, sent link to my son and daughter in UK. All I can add is, wait, wait till your over 60, it gets better.
  21. other than the paint job, looks about the same weight as my Commencal!
  22. +++1. I too started riding BH (before helmets). It was wrong then, wrong now. It's right to point out to someone their selfishness, but, perhaps, not their stupidity! PS: still riding with my 2012 K2C number on my bike, but I'm a poser, who cares?
  23. Thanks ASG. Seems to me a frank exposure of your side of the story. But, I don't understand what is so sensitive in what you present, that it couldn't have been written upfront, on page 1, and the issue discussed openly. Anyway, at least we have your side now. Would be nice to hear what the OP replies.
  24. If they round, carbon and 'fast', I think they could be mine!!! (tongue in cheek ... cheeks stronger than legs)
