  1. This always works for me and my family... Get yourself some Localbiotal Spray every few hours. Darn expensive (Something like R150), but works a charm. While at the pharmacy ask for a Neurobion (VitB) and Engystol (homeopathic) shot. They mix the two so it's only one sore bum! This boosts your immune system almost immediately. You should start feeling better the next morning, but rest it out a few more days.. Keep in mind though that this (and other remadies) only treats symtoms of the virus. The virus could still linger in your system without some symptoms present. It could be dangerous to your health if you overdo things then, so the best thing would be to rest it out and keep a close eye on your situation. If you feel any muscle soreness etc. Do'nt go racing or even riding until it has gone completely.
  2. Nope, it's a few levels worse than a sin. If you have the cash, carbon... Does not only weigh less, but gives a smoother ride as well. (Less road vibration).
  3. Try to PM and mail again if you dont have his cellnr. Give him till tomorrow 12:00.... then...hum, what he said : I'll bring da popcorn.
  4. +1
  5. Bring yer Legs
  6. So true!!! It is exactly this "self-centered-ness" that has killed not thousands, but millions of people in SA. Everything is me-myself-and-I. This mentality is just more visible on our roads than in other places. We all are guilty of this, and it probably is not going to change. We have a lot to learn from someone like Madiba. It only takes 1 person, maybe even you... (or me)...
  7. My MTB is covered for 10K all-risk type insurance on my normal insurance policy. Costs around R40 per month. Sorry to hear about your accindent and trouble Captain Cheesy. Normally these things cause more schlep than the seriousness of the accident itself... Just don't back down. Get out of the guy what you can, it sounds like he was responsible for your damage. He or his insurance should at least cover some of your expenses. Good luck!
  8. Doubt that he paid for it Manenberg nogal!
  9. Nice try!
  10. Ralphs (maybe Snakeskin if you are worried about weight) and Conti Race King UST comes to mind. Both roll pretty well, durable and has ok grip. The Ralph snakeskins are not as puncture and cut proof as the UST's. (Contrary to popular believe). Fastrack's are nice as well! Just don’t take any of these above onto tar. Won't last very long.
  11. What Fanievb said... The more spacers you have in, the easier it is to clip out. Normally you get 2 x 0.5mm 2 x 1mm and 2 x 2mm spacers included with the cleats. (fixed). Start off with 1 x 0.5mm and 1 x 1mm and check how easily you can clip out. If you do not have the spacers, I am not sure if you can buy them separately. It might mean you will need to buy a new set of cleats with spacers if you can't get your hands on them.
  12. Yep, very bad for them KOM hero/hunters. Some guys tend to take that very seriously. Saw a lot of threads about it here on the HUB recently causing some heated debate, though I think this thread is luckily a more technical orientated one.
  13. It Uses VERY little data (a few KB per hour). Turning off your data connections will make it much less accurate as Strava can use "AGPS" (the A is for assisted). AGPS "assists" the GPS in the phone with cellphone tower tri-angulation to get a more accurate fix on your location. The GPS units in phones on their own are quite good these days, but without using AGPS Strava could still give you some pretty bad segment data.
  14. My sincere condolences. You should maybe think of changing your name from MudMonkey to TarMonkey now. But on a more serious note: We all love the sport, to me it does not matter what discipline/s. They all compliment each other in some form or another. It is still fun though, joking around with the differences Most of all, Njoy the open road!
  15. NO! DOOOOOON'T DO IIIIIIT!!!!!!
  16. Maybe the more important question begs : "Should we be worried about our wifes?"
  17. Yep, get those from after about 3 days. After about 5 days or so, it gets really bad. My wife says everyone knows if I was not on the bike for a few days and she begs me to go riding. Unfortunitely spinning or riding in the wind and rain does not help at all, a bad thing with the Cape winter doing i'ts rounds.
