  1. Agreed, the guy I saw didn’t look good when I stopped there. Hope he recovers quickly.
  2. Rode past this accident after getting caught up in the VB crash. The poor guy didn’t look good when I went past, glad to hear he got off relevantly lightly.
  3. Unfortunately only reading this now, the pr*ck seems to have caught me with the half wheeler he advertised. I was a bit naive and had a suspicion but was hasty so took a risk and made a payment yesterday only to hear nothing more from him and no answering my call today, thought I’d give him a day or two before reporting but seeing this now, it confirms my suspicions. Stupid me, lesson learnt but luckily it wasn’t a massive amount. All I can say is the wheel turns Anton or whatever your name is, and when it comes around I hope you get taught a proper lesson punk. BTW I had another number for him 0606310807 so keep a lookout. Thinking of how one would report this to the cops or if it’s even worth it.
  4. Overall I thought it was a good event for their first one, everything seemed to go ahead with no major glitches and it looked like a lot of effort went into this event, I will be back next year, however I did see a lot of comments on twitter from p*ssed off residents in the effected areas where they claim to have not been notified about road closures so perhaps some better communication to residents next year. Oh ja and thanks to Spinnekop for gooi'ing the VA bunch the middle finger as you passed us getting onto the N17 . Well ridden!!
  5. Good to meet you... well done on the podium.
  6. First time doing this race for me and it was a great event, the hilly area makes for some seriously tough riding but also some spectacular views. Day 2 was a seriously tough day, probably my toughest on a road bike so far and the TT was brutal after 3 days of riding. Great organization and everything seemed to go off smoothly so well done to the organizers and a big thanks to Road Cover and the marshals, they were brilliant and never did I feel unsafe.
  7. State 5 in Greenside (Excellent coffee!!!) Bicycle Line in Atlasville M&B on Atlas Rd Salt Cafe in Salt Rock
  8. And they love the wind... if there is a cross wind, get ready to suffer in the gutter.
  9. I just got one of these over the weekend. Got the Krups Burr grinder (R800) to go with it. So far it seems like a nice little machine, I think a different grinder might be needed in the future though. Now to figure out how it all works and try not to overdose on caffeine while testing. However, just after buying the Breville I saw this on special at Dion Wired. Don't know anything about the brand but it's within the price ranges you mentioned above so it might be worth looking at http://www.dionwired.co.za/catalog/product/view/id/17700/category/150/
  10. Was also in that group of VA riders. Very tough day on the bike. Yoh, the front guys went hard up the first couple of climbs. Agreed that when VB caught us things got a bit negative. The tannie in the Hyundai wasn't too happy with us when we got too close to them. Tough ride and back to the drawing board to try hold on to the big guns.
  11. HAHAHA I'll try that next year... Thanks and well done to you and Mrs Popit, great ride.
  12. Awesome event and organization was great this year, the race track was a nice addition but a bit tougher than expected. Rode in VB and got schooled again on that first climb inside Steyn City, geez those 2 hills are a killer inside that place. Will be back again next year to try again. Only gripe is the price of the beers at the beer tent Well done to all involved.
  13. To echo what everyone else has said, well done to Gerald and his team for a well organized event as usual. No issues and everything seemed to go smoothly. And thanks to all the martials for looking after us. As for the racing... I got taught another cycling lesson in VA, geeeeez, those boys are strong. Made it to just after the 100km mark on the road past Duduza but the wind and gutter got the better of me and I ran out of talent. All in all, a good hard day on the bike. Will be back next year.
  14. Sounds good, thanks for the reply. I will definitely give it a try once the days start getting longer.
  15. Thanks Blitzer. Any idea how it will be on weekdays after 5pm?
