  1. Whats with all the questions all of a sudden??
  2. Reboot what? The thread? Would you?
  3. I agree.... its the only way I have improved my technical abilities (and they are not top notch but I do try...) so its def worth planning the trip out there... and I try get there once a month at least. Its the BEST feeling to ride stuff that I could not even attempt last year and that was the cherry on my cake.. .. coping with the tech descents. (now I just need to work on the climbing) Practice is the only way to improve!! And if you cant... WALK. Simple.
  4. Why didnt I see you? You OBVIOUSLY didnt wave big enough! Hehehehe! Think I was too stressed to chat up anyone... longest half marathon this year for me by a good hour! LOL! Back to the grindstone! Well done to!! Next time maybe a hello n beer after! (and thanks!)
  5. Condolences to family . RIP fellow cyclist.
  6. Thanks Thug!! May I add that I have SO much respect for the guys who all rode the full marathon! !! Huge kudos!!
  7. I found a special tissue salt mix works well and also doing some serious stretching and keeping my legs/feet cold (out the duvet ) helps. Very frustrating! Will also be following this thread closely. Find it is worse when I haven't been spinning or exercised.
  8. I had several multiple personality disorders through the first 18km.. battled with the climbing and blew heart rate into the sky and would have given my mtb to the nearest taker at one stage.. but.... it got better thank heavens and after swearing I will never race again (let alone this venue).. I am ready to work harder and will do it again next year. I may be slow but I FINISHED and that is ultimately what its about. Fighting the quitting demons. Rode a lot more of the downhill technical bits (albeit with a few shrieks in between) so was well chuffed. This race reminds me of childbirth... you forget the pain and trauma of it within hours. MAN those ICE COLD Savannahs went down well along with those awesome Steers chips!!! Thanks Nissan & (not so FUN) Gaalen!!! See you next year!
  9. That is SO sad. Happens in a blink. Sjoe. Healing vibes.
  10. AM just about over the cough n fevers so i cant wait to go hit the trails tomorrow..... one of my favourites (even though its SUCH a sufferfest over the concrete section)... Bring it ON!!
  11. They are beautiful and do exist - I was lucky enough to be introduced to a baby 8 week old being hand reared at a private cheetah breeding farm (this little fella was privately owned and orphaned for some or other reason)... the colour under the black is unmistakeably the same leopard markings. Absolutely gorgeous creature and had the hugest paws. In the run it was all over the place... loved climbing and very playful... stalking anything that moves. Instinct is there. Must try load some pics up of it!
  12. LOVE it!! WHAT an attitude - just parking there!!
  13. But they are certainly stunning if you get to know them. Not quite sure I would want to be in the firing line of that pack though.....
  14. Shame man...Mine was also a rescue... other one is a restuarant feral rescue - was as wild as anything and had demonic nature but now a real honey. man these animals crawl into your heart and never budge once they there. xx
  15. Thanks all for the support. Was a terrible day on Friday for me. xxx
  16. They usually divert traffic to park at the eventing spot (le Godimo). Last year Nissan VG was on same day as that massive road race that caused some havoc.
  17. On a very sad note... my heart is breaking as I have to take my old man to the vet this afternoon as he has gone downhill in his old age and is now battling to eat and not drinking much. He did get his fish down this morning and a half bowl of milk and he was lying quietly on his pillow when I left. He is 14 and came into my life as a barely 4week old kitten with not a hair on his body and full of scabs that was a really bad bout of ringworm. From having being bathed 3x a day in special stuff (even I got ringworm), he jsut sprouted this gorgeous black coat that has remained as black as the night and he has been a part of my life for all this time. Heart is breaking at the thought of what I have to do and am dreading going home today.
  18. Removing grout from between the tiles?? Ooh thats funny!! And of course its good to take revenge on the dogs.. at any given moment. Love it!! He sounds like a real character!
  19. I agree whole-heartedly and as a rule I loathe it when they become the targets of domestication along with ferrets and the likes... unless there is a solid reason for their integration into human family life they should be left to function within their own family in natural habitat. but man.. when they do cross your path (as Junior did).. dont they make just awesome charactered pets?
  20. Would you laugh if I told you they are the thing that keeps me right where I am? xxx
  21. But I would still like to babysit..... or have one that's been rescued or needs to be rescued.... got the ideal set up at home to rehabilitate. I actually think we have a family in the game camp! They are SUCH characters.....!!
  22. I can do lots of things....... Someone needs me? In all honesty... the furtherest I would want to move is to CT..... ?? Is that a bad thing? Oh, and may I add that I was in love with Dubai and badly wanted to go work there but did not think it a good idea to do that solo!?? And my animals... ?? Eish....
  23. Look how gorgeous she is looking!! Filled out and all clean and sparkly!! Well done!! Hugs to her please!
