    swim sets

As Dizzy says - as long as you have a good body position in the water and not dragging your feet openwater swimming (esp if you are swimming in a wetsuit) does not require a strong kick. As long as you have a n efficient pull the kick is merely there to stabilize you. I find that when I am doing longer distances my kick slows down to a two beat but revs up to a flutter when doing sprints when the extra propulsion is required. Did a killer set on Tuesday night: Warm up (400m) 200m f/s easy 200m IM kick/swim (25m kick/25swim) Main set: (1800m) 8x50 f/s @ '55 200m recovery - fly drill - 25 mellada/25 one arm alternating every 2nd stroke 8x50 f/s @ '50 200m recovery - backstroke drill - 25 double touch/ 25 6 kick drill 8x50 f/s @ '45 200m recovery breastroke drill - 25m 3 kick pull/ 25 normal Cool down: (300m) 300m pull with paddles and pool buoy Total set - 2500m
  2. Stark reminder that mad skillz does not an immortal man make. Very sad news and hope that he makes a speedy recovery.
  3. Yeah - have reconsidered the wire harness. Will possibly look at getting a platform rack not much of a saving on wire harness and in the end the long term saving on safe bike transport out weights the initial forking out of cash.
  4. I would be keen to join in.
  5. Hi all - mates of mine are behind the making of this amazing documentary and episode 2 is due to launch Friday. Here is a sneak preview of what you can expect http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuV2yB5l8hU Enjoy!
  6. Thanks for the advise - car booked in to have tow-bar fitted in the morning. Getting a good deal as not installing the wire harness as I do not intend to tow anything with the car - so essentially only for bike rack purposes. Anyone to keen to trade a hang on for a tow bar clip on rack?
  7. Mmm - was suspecting I would probably have to go the tow-bar or roof rack route - both would require installation thereof.
  8. I recently bought a new car - upgraded from a polo vivo to polo 1.6. I have a Thule hang on bike rack. Question is will I be able to use it on my Polo 1.6 as this has a boot spoiler which the vivo did not have. I remember them asking me about the boot spoiler when I bought the rack originally and want to know if it makes a difference. will it damage my car if I use one not meant for a boot spoiler? I only use it to transport my mtb as my road bike fits easily into the car when I put the seats flat so it will be carrying some weight and on the odd occasion when I have to transport more than one bike. Any advise would be most welcome. tx

  17. Weight loss is 70% diet 30% exercise. If you prepping food for the kids you can prep food for yourself. Watch your portion sizes and ensure you eat at the right times of the day. Look at a lifestyle change as a whole and not only on the losing weight part, something that you can incorporate for the whole family. Too busy is not an excuse. It takes two weeks to get into a routine - bite the bullet and go for it. You can do it.
