When you patch you effectively put a weight out of turn so to speak, so the whole tire will now behave differently with various pressure points within the casing, so by default you running an unbalanced tire. For a get me out of jail card it’s fine short term to fix but needs replacing IMHO, and rubber is not cheap, we are just discussing this over on the other thread.🙃

Ouch… I would replace, once rubber has been exposed to that kind of heat, it’s possible the tire bead membrane will have warped somewhat, so your tire might experience a hoop or wall failure under pressure, that’s why some people get an unexpected blowouts, they fail to realise that the wheels are taking heat from the exhaust for your two hour drive or more. Yeah… the days of Eddie are upon us again with this generation. I think it’s amazing watching an athlete been versatile over the course of a season, especially the last big one the Tour of Lombardy! To me that is an rough and epic event to close up on, even better when a Tour rider can sneak a win. I think The hell of North this year will have at least 15 favourites.

Brutal conditions… talk about peloton exhaustion, amazing n how many good sprinters could not main those high speeds. Fred’s bridge over to the leading trio has be rider of the day. That was real matches burnt and you could see he had nothing in the tank for the sprint. I expect to see more of him this year. 👍🏻

The cost of getting a true hand built wheel is worth it. I once had a tubby set that was built in Belguim in my racing days and it never once ran out of true. They were solid, of course in those days we had zero potholes and the wheels were built for cobble abuse! Yeah I think a good wheel is even more important than ever with our road conditions. Shops don’t always double check apple tension… in SA, if the wheel is balanced and true we think it’s okay! 😂😂😂
