  1. shot, tx for heads up on results!
  2. Did a 6h06, was very frustrating ride as I couldn't keep my saddle from slipping, had to keep stopping and re-tightening the seat post clamp !
  3. Copperhead, 6.21 tired 29th overall 3rd in category. Loved it but tired How you get your results ? Was that ultra and what category ?
  4. Copperhead, 6.21 tired 29th overall 3rd in category. Loved it but tired How you get your results ?
  5. That Ultra was a hard slog ! Didn't give much, hard to work a lot to get it done!
  6. got a text message from www.jumptrax.com with my result but the overalls results are not on the website yet You sure that email address correct ?
  7. where can one find results ?
  8. I might have bought a Scalpel 1 on Friday that is still hidden in my car until I can weave it into a conversation with my better half...
  9. I have been doing this last week or so ( highlighted part ) as ramp up my final throws of training for Epic ( 15hrs last week 19hr this week ) Cannot believe the difference, sad to say, for me if I am training hard LCHF just does not allow me to compete at same level as carb fuelled. Yesterday rode hard 5hours 2000m and 6hours 3000m today, my numbers are off the chart compared to all other rides in last six months. I'm talking 30plus watts increase in avg watts difference overall, that's huge!! Only thing I can attribute it too is carbs that I have started shovelling down my throat both in and out the rides. After Epic will be back to strict LCHF.
  10. ditto, will help with what I can.
  11. They are a effing joke !! Drivers out of a lucky packet ! And I reckon the planners must have tried hard to put every bus stop on a corner or at the narrowest section of the road so traffic cant get past when they don't actually pull into the bus stop but stop in middle of the road! A fine example of how not to implement a great concept..
  12. You know in my mind what the saddest thing is right now.... We can sit and debate the relevant merits of a unacceptable punch up where both parties probably had some sort of role to apportion for 63 pages... But a triple family farm murder, where the mother goes to the airport to pick up the son to take home and surprise the father for his 70th birthday are brutally murder same day....cant even make as much news as these cyclist did in South Africa, or anywhere near 60 pages on the hub... sad times,,,
  13. Have also been LCHF for over a year, My method is simple and works for ME...fuel to race, ie a shovel banana, potato, energy drink and lately Gu's when in race, even started with carb breakfast now. Outside back to LCHF.
  14. Supporting what Dave has to say.. I did Tankwa and GR300 past two weekends, both good results in top twenty. I maintained LCHF outside of race for Tankwa, but took Gi32 liquid and bars ( 1 per stage between waterpoints, generally only stop on 2nd wp ) coke, banana and potato during race. GR300 I had carb for Breakfast ( oats and rye bread ) Gi32 liquid and bar (1per stage and 2 gu's per stage ) Felt much stronger and held a much more consistent tempo power ride for duration of race Fri (Sat had the runs, not a good day ) and Sun was strongest I have felt in ages. To sum it up, I now fuel to race , that means shovelling quick energy down my throat, not necessarily good energy in the traditional LCHF sense !
  15. The sad thing is even though it wasn't us who was robbed physically, we who train that route at that time have all been robbed now as we have to wonder every time we get on out bikes for 'that' ride...are WE going to be bike-jacked today.. I cant help questioning nowadays...I am the frog in the boiling pot...
  16. What I don't understand is why posters here deny the o.p. his right to voice his dissatisfaction with actual events that are real to him, when they simply had a different experience with same supplier ? So if they had good experience, does that make the vendor infallible and incapable of giving another client a 'poor' experience ?
  17. Lol thanks for the props..but believe me when I say it sounds tougher than I looked on that climb !

    Tankwa Trek

Hi, Any body who did Tankwa doing GR300, or done both before ? How do they compare ?
  19. Hi, So Tankwa done and dusted...was very happy with q-ring Chain stayed on on some very rough, fast bouncy descents. Other than I should have been on a 32 and not 34...anybody who done 'Merino Monster' will know what I mean !

    Tankwa Trek

Awesome event, Dryland I have realised sets the bar when it comes to mtb events. Pioneer, Attekwas and Tankwa, all hardcore mtbing with testing routes. Their food and catering is in my mind above Sani and W2W. Big ups to them for another great event.
  21. got my X1 q-ring and spider today, doing tankwa this weekend so will report back on how it felt after that.
  22. okay..help me cos I am alone here..
  23. Someone enlighten me please.. So today I create a segment from my training ride this am. It was intervals on Suikerbossie x 6 times. So I figure create a segment then every week when I do they same workout I can compare. Its from a line on road just after robots at bottom to the new bus stop at top. This afternoon when I go to look at my ride the segment has been flagged as dangerous by another user ? WTF I am missing ? Its exactly the same as Suikerbossie south side except 50/60m shorter ?
