  1. GPS is not an issue for us. We have bike units that do that. Those 45 and 45s are big clunky things. We are after some form of activity/fitness tracker. I guess I am tending towards the charge 3 or vivo 4
  2. Thanks Bertusras. Did you look at the fit bit units at all ?
  3. Which wearable is the best one as an activity/step counter? Something that lasts for more than 24 hrs. The interwebs suggest the fitbit charge 3, others the fitbit versa, and also the samsung galaxy fit. We just need something that can count steps (for Mr Discovery), monitor HR and have a decent battery life.
  4. jislaaik, but this oomie has some seriously niiiice equipment, not to mention skills and patience!
  5. Givcen current time constraints I think I might just try contact Le Turbo ...
  6. Right chaps. I need some advice on how to restore this bench. It is an old bench from one of the JHB trams that my Dad "borrowed" when they were decommissioned. I do not have the skill set to take it apart - but I would love to restore it. So option A is someone in the CT area that can restore this ... or option B, give me some advice on how to go about this project.
  7. https://www.w24.co.za/SelfCare/Wellness/Mind/how-i-went-from-humble-beginnings-to-4-degrees-by-the-age-of-25-20191218 Great stories these. I like her comment on "no mentor"

  11. Great to have this awesome news to the new year. Long may it last Cois!
  12. does it have to be a calendar year? and would stretching/core work be included as an activity ?
  13. As 2019 draws to a close for us in RSA may you all have an awesome 2020. May you first steps to achieving your goals for 2020 be great ones. No matter what happens and what you do, keep the pedals turning.
  14. Did some of you not call for more compliance from cyclists when SANparks threatened to pull bikers off the mountain ? What happened to Nic is just plain simply wrong. I think on that we "mostly" seem to agree. The reasons for getting into that situation is where the discussion turns ummmm weird!
  15. no man Jewie ... those mince pies got to your brain ... ok, maybe mine, I did not type in comic sans.
  16. Your logic means we should suspend your account until next year ... oh wait that is next week. No use in doing that. As I said earlier (when I was asked about my turkey lunch), there will be no winners here.
  17. https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/watch-cycling-star-nic-dlamini-breaks-arm-during-scuffle-with-table-mountain-rangers-20191227 Shoeeeee weeeee SANParks have to do what they have to do and support their rangers as much as possible. But they have BIG problems on their hands! "As per the law, that is a transgression which requires them to be fined or apprehended," he added. "It is alleged that the cyclist became quite aggressive with the rangers, hence the scuffle. The arm may have broken as a result of him resisting arrest," Thakhuli explained." These are big statements from Mr Thakhul, who is up the creek without a paddle. This is not going to end well.
  18. It lkooks like he breaks his arm when the official pushes him into the side of the car before opening the tail gate.
  19. How did he get to a hospital so fast ? HKGK! There are plenty of questions here (of the officials !) Can a SAnparks official arrest you from a legal standpoint ?
  20. Well done Donovan for sharing! How is SANparks going to spin this that it is his fault ! They broke his arm !
  21. Hope you are all hanging in there guys. Will be thinking of you guys (and gals) over the next few days. Just hang in there and chin up.
