  4. I get it - but at this stage it is just not funny. Well not to me anyway. But then again so be it, others may like it, which they are entitled to. What is the comment about opinions and Uranus?
  5. After a tough day in the office - I have to say I battle to the see the funny side of this. I am sure there is one, but I just dont see it. Maybe I need a new set of glasses in the morning
  6. Osprey for the win and their bladders are easier than camelpack.
  7. Might I suggest that you first ask yourself what you want your pack for ? A water bottle holder ? A big water bottle holder ? A water bottle holder plus some snacks? A big 3l water bladder plus some snacks, plus the suncreen, plsu the bumceam, plsu your jacket, plsu cell phone and maybe car keys, but for sure the house keys? Then ask yourself, what is the biggest meanest longest ride you plan on doing ? Then go shopping. You can always take less - but it is tricky to take more when you dont have any space.

Lets start small ..... I have been put in contact with a supplier and am buying a box of 50 tubes. I want to see how long it takes me to go through a box before I embark on any other larger project. Right just trying to keep everything together is a challenge in and off itself!
  9. I think her graced the land of Ire .... but he was last somewhere on the continental exit island

Pit stop on route is ideal - but currently time consuming. Would much rather give the guy a tube who is battling to sort out a flat or walking becuase of a flat. But I like madmarcs idea of recycling them is good idea, as is also handing out patch kits.

That is part of the plan - but some of those tubes are more patch than rubber.

We live in an area that is between the centre of town and the formal/informal area of Somerset West. As a result I see plenty of commuters on a daily basis. And hence lots of these guys have flat tyres. Now in watching/helping these guys I have seen some pretty hectic make a plan to get home kinda thing. One guy just made a knot in the tube. Battled like mad to try get it back on the wheel. I drove home, got a new tube and when I got back to him he was still battling. He was really happy to have a new tube and was on his way in 5 min. But where can I get hold of cheap tubes? Mostly 26er in size. Anyone with a supplier contact where I can buy a whole box of tubes and when I see someone with a flat just give them a new tube? The local shop has them at R50 bucks. Now R50 for us is one less coffee and biscuit - for the commuters that is a whole lot of food. Hopefully someones can get me in contact with a supplier for about R20 or R30 a tube ?

  15. Mode Note: This thread is to discuss rugby in general, across all the competitions. However, given the world cup, please can we keep things simple and discuss all world cup rugby related matters on the world cup thread, which can be found here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/183237-rugby-world-cup-2019/
  16. https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=382537&new=1 A bit of a sad sale, but it is not fair to have her wrapped up and not being used for what she was intended. A bad back is putting me more and more onto a dual suspension. Dreams of riding miles into the sunset on a gravel grinder CX bike are going down faster than the sunset. EDIT: Condition can be best described as light mint
  17. WOW! Dusty those are amazing !
  18. Bringing up an old thread as this has become relevant again. Spot 3 seems to have taken a bit of a bump from the reviews overseas. The now have a Spot X, which is a two way communicator - but even that has taken a hit. Does anyone have any experience with the Garmin In reach system ? Especially the in reach mini? You can use your phone as the "keyboard" but still have the SOS functionality. DC rainmaker gives them a thumbs up - but I would be keen to hear from South Africans who may have used this. https://www.garmin.co.za/prod_detail_inreach-mini.php?productid=737 Oh yes, I wont buy direct from them given the recent hack debacle.
  19. Would you guys put woodoc wax on on outside wooden table to for an hour or so a day gets sun on it ? It looks like the wood is starting to lighten in colour - I suspect from the sun coming onto the stoep through a window we have put in.
  20. So you have entered. Nice one !
  21. The Kenyan Department of Wildlife would have a different opinion.
  22. Ja well no fine. Like landies, the good ones come with 3 figures in their relative designations, 100, 110, 200 or 300 ....
  23. Much anticipated, both loved and hated. Simply interesting view of the future. Taken from the 4x4community forum.
