  1. When I get into your position I use a bomb to seat the tyre without any sealant. I then deflate, insert the sealant through the valve, and re-inflate with a floor pump thus keeping the sealant away from any funny effects of the CO2.
  2. Thanks Droo, I have already sourced one of the hub a few months ago. I already did a minor service on it. The next one is a major service though...
  3. Thanks. The spanjaard is just so much more affordable when compared to the SRAM butter
  4. I am in the process of acquiring everything I need to service my Rockshox RS1. I have already bought the full service kit and have SRAM butter as well as Spanjaard Red Rubber grease at home. In the service manual they refer to PM600 military Grease which should be used. Can I use the Spanjaard grease in its place or will I mess things up?
  5. Like previously mentioned there is a bid(buy) and offer(sell) rate for cross currency transactions. You get charged the offer rate, which is the higher of the two. The bank will always offer you less to buy back currency than what it is willing to sell you cross currency. That is due to quite a number of factors... On top of the FX rate, your bank will charge you a transaction fee for cross currency transactions. That has to do with visa and mastercard and not neccesarily the bank you bank with. CRC is not linked to a live exchange and they do not determine the FX rate. Their website is linked to some input table which gets updated on a periodic basis(not sure how frequently they update). The ZAR price you see on CRC is thus an estimation for that component. When you place an order they charge your credit card in pounds. The bank will then do the currency part based on current market factors which comes through your statement. To get a more accurate price, use the pound price, subtract the VAT(20%) and calculate the ZAR price using up to date market information.
  6. I had to change my password again today in order to log in after registering yesterday. Something is not lekker with the back end me thinks...
  7. The site is not recognizing my credentials...
  8. I got 8500km out if my xx1 cassette and 3500km out of a xx1 chain. How did that compare to Shimano? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  9. if there is no pics, I wouldn't even respond to the ad even if it is something I really want.
  10. That is stupid money for a problem that does not even really exist... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. I've got a Epic Marathon 2015 which was the same 11m Carbon frame as the S-Works for that years models. Yes I can see the carbon layer/sheet or whatever you want to call it, but is it an imperfection? From what I have read regarding building carbon frames it definitely is not. And they also didn't cover the bike in 10 layers of paint to hide it, as that would be counter intuitive to building a light bike. Any top end carbon bike will look like that before the painting process begins. From my experience it is a lot more visible on the matt black finishes than on the gloss finishes(as the blue one in this review).
  12. Everyone against 1X drivetrains go with the argument of jumps between gears. This is a paper based argument. Have you actually ridden a 1X drivetrain to feel what those jumps feel like. I have never had an issue with a shift being to big... Then if you look at the percentages between gears on the eagle the actual biggest jump is between the 10 and 12 tooth... The rest is very similar between systems
  13. If you are going to compare numbers of 2x10 to 1x12 you will arrive at a very similar range for both with no clear answer as to which one to go for. Over the past 4 years I have gone from 2x10 to 1x11 to 1x12. Yes the range is similar but for me the main benefits are: 1) No chainsuck 2) Simplicity and clean handlebar 3) smoother shifting 4) Drivetrain wear The 1x systems wear a lot better for me personally than the 2x systems. The new eagle drivetrain thus far has been awesome in this regard. Yes it is expensive but according to me it is worth it. The new Eagle shifting performance is beyond awesome. Difficult to put down in words but the feel is the best I have ever had on a bike.

  15. Has anybody used AGS and how does VAT work on the order? I want to bring in something from the UK but if I use AGS I have to pay UK VAT. Do I then also pay SA VAT once it lands or only the delivery fee?
  16. When is the actual draw happening? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. Max is being questioned as almost all of his stage racing partners over the past 3 years have been caught doping and banned. He was on the same team(Fedgroup) as Brandon Stewart and Kevin Evans when they got caught. Remember Kevin also denied knowing anything when David George was the first SA mtb'er to be caught for EPO. Where there's smoke there's fire but if there is not a positive test you can't call him a doper
  18. I'm doing my final challenge Friday - Sunday... In it to win it! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. The seeding system rewards recent form. That's why a race of 2 years ago will age and not have an influence on current seeding. The system makes perfect sense in my opinion... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  20. This sounds like an awesome idea!!! I hang on to the A bunch until the surge up witkoppen where I lost contact. I put in a massive effort up Malibongwe and Cedar and caught a few guys that broke away through Steyn City. I eventually came in in 2h32
  21. I bought 6 tubs of the ASSOS cream on a CWC sale a while ago at R120 a tub... Ass Magic works fine but I prefer ASSOS. I have also used baby bum cream for a long time which works 100% for anti-chafing but it doesnt have anything in it to assist the healing/recovery process.
  22. I was in the same area so we might have passed each other somewhere during the ride. Well done Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  24. I did challenge 3 on Saturday. It took 140km and 6.5 hours in Pretoria as there aren't really any nice long ongoing drags. But the ride is in the bag, thats all that counts!!!
