  1. They should keep the master data and just add a tab which filters the master data for people who have up to date completed all the challenges. That way when someone syncs late, the filter will pick it up and provide an updated list. It really is a simple task.
  2. I started training with a coach at the start of September with the ultimate goal of pushing for a top 100 at the Epic next year. From personal experience over the last 5 weeks I can say the following: For my midweek sessions which can be 2 hours max, I get the absolute most out of them. There is no such thing as a wasted ride.My rest is a lot more structured and thus more effective. This directly contributes to better results on the big effort days usually over weekends. My numbers have already showed improvement over the last 5-6 weeks. I have all the software and I have read all the articles on training peaks on how to interpret my power data. But do I know how to put together a structured plan to get the most benefit out of my training sessions... The simple answer is No... The only secret to training with a power meter under a coach is to stick to the plan and do the sessions as prescribed. It takes a lot of commitment, and if you do that you will definitely see improvement. I doubt that you will go from a back of the bunch rider to a podium finisher but your personal performances will improve!
  3. Yip thats the one I was trying to indicate on the map. Glad you are okay!!!
  4. Is this the spot you are referring to? I went past that Mcds at around 5am this morning on my way to klapperkop...
  5. took me 2mins, but I was finished quite early
  6. None of the trailseeker routes will blow you away as it is catered for the masses. If you want impressive technical routes, that is what they cater for in the Ashburton events. As for feeling robbed, I don't understand why this comment is always made. It is not like we are paying per kilometer. We pay for the venue, water points, marshals etc. Overall I was happy with the event at the new venue. Easy access. Nice enough route, although the first half felt like a road race averaging 30kph. The second half started sorting out the dirt roadies from the MTB'ers a bit with the short steep climbs, sand, rocks etc. Happy with my time of 2h24 on the Marathon
  7. Usually it gets uploaded on www.jetlineactionphoto.com from Monday afternoon onwards after the event.
  8. From what I know and have heard. New ownership, but same title sponsor, so it will remain the ABSA Cape Epic. Well at least for 2017 it will...
  9. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/57b5b63ce64a9/IMG-20160818-WA0018.jpg Found this pic of sausers bike which looks like a rotor crank with eagle but it's difficult to be 100% sure. He might also be riding a prototype ring for all we know Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. What I am actually after is if any 1X NW ring will work and if anyone have tested it. A prime example of this is the Rotor InPower cranks. I cannot find anything on the interweb and thus asking if anyone has actually tested it in real life.
  11. A question that keeps popping up that I cannot find the answer to is if the Eagle groupset will work with aftermarket chainrings like Absolute Black, Wolftooth, CSIXX etc. According to SRAM you need their fancy new ring, but according to Absolute Blacks website their standard Narrow Wide ring works with Eagle. Has anybody gotten their hands on an Eagle groupset yet to check this?
  12. Live segments is a very nifty little feature, but I am at the point where I want to switch it off. It works fine on long drags or road sections, but on tight twisty technical MTB segments I get the "off-segment" message about 9 times out of 10 on my Edge 520. This is also about the only feature I use from Strava Premium, as strava's fitness trackers, power analysis etc are useless compared to Trainingpeaks and WKO4. Strava's fitness graph in the premium feature only looks at cycling and ignores any other activities. Pretty useless if you cross train. My strava premium will not be renewed in 2017... On another note, the ELEMNT seems like a feature packed device but I won't buy it simple due to its size. It is about the size of a Nokia 5110!!!
  13. I like the fact that they recognise the longer base type efforts. This is much more in line with the type of training I do, so I will be one of the first to opt in. Very well explained shaper, it actually is not going to make much of a difference in the end. The difference comes in when you do those long base rides. On the normal programme you will be limited to 100 points(speed workout as you will be below 70%), whereas on the performance one if you go 3 hours plus you will actually get 600 points for the same workout if you stay above 60% which is barely moving TBH. Active recovery rides will also earn you more than the standard 100 on the performance option. For fit people who already train more than 3 times per week the 900 goal on normal or 1200 on performance will be a breeze to achieve.
  14. All I want to know is what the definition of endurance/high performer is. I like to train 6 times a week with my weekends being anything from 7 to 12 hours worth of training in total. I have not missed a single goal since starting out, so will this now push me into the endurance category according to them? 1200 points per week was no issue as I usually get 1500/3000 points on my Saturday ride.
  15. I really enjoyed the race. They keep on making improvements to the route every year. Started in A batch and luckily this time everyone rode the technical bits and did not get off or stop in the middle of the trail. With these types of venues in the city I always try to cycle there as it is a lot quicker to get out. In total I did 115km's on Saturday and finished 55th in the Marathon. Great venue and great event!
  16. How awesome would those Darkhorse Wheels look on this dark horse! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. They are still too young to realize that the feeling in their legs is actually pain!!!
  18. From checking last years profile and comparing to this years route the only changes I can see is the loop around the field being removed so past the 1st waterpoint we are heading straight over the concrete strips. The only other change is the finish going up oom piet and not straight on the district road to the single track for the finish. I suspect the 950m of climbing quoted isn't correct. I will prepare for at least 1300m. From the elevation profile we are definitely dropping down the mountain to get to the floating bridge. Might be a different trail, but still going to be lekker steep!!!
  19. I got 1350 for last year. I heard oom piet is back. That is quite a sting in the tail
  20. There was an ambulance waiting at the bottom of that descend for the past 2 years as they know how dangerous it is. I think the one year a figure of 30 broken collarbones was mentioned so I can understand why they would make it easier/safer. I love that descend. It is a proper test of bike handling skills. I wonder where they lost the 500m of vertical ascend?
  21. I ride fast to get to the beer tent quicker... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. As long as they have an alternative at the bridge I'll be happy. Last year I was racing in the front of B batch and had to wait about 20 minutes just to cross the bridge. If there is any congestion I would like to have the option of taking an alternative instead of standing around watching people fall into a pond...
  23. You would be surprised what lengths people would go to to get a financial gain... Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
  24. Agreed. This is such a complex situation, and the fact of the matter is that there will always be someone trying to cheat the system...
