I think that was a once off Club100 ride .... they rode at Rietvlei zoo farm and then went to Thaba trails as far as I know!

The same could be said for the Hub lately

Yes it is worth carrying them, I have succesfully repaired a few punctures! You do get thin and thick ones, bummer is you need a different tool for each ....

True that but my question was more around others perceiving the price of your bike and then making the assumption ... expensive looking bike and you're not winning

I like ability or appreciation as opposed to if you're not winning you should be riding makro/game bike mentality
