  1. Wasn't that BigLem fellow the record holder at one time?
  2. The stories I could tell ...
  3. Those, and all these 'chipped' things are not bicycles and those are not cyclists .... Anyone would be hard pressed to convince me otherwise! Akin to the talks of races where dopers should be allowed to race each other and take whatever they want so there should be races for these help my traps where they 'outchip' each other Really sad for the many many ebike cyclists who just get saddled with this bad rap Right now I've got that of my chest ... I'll go for a ride 😎
  4. Are you even a cyclist then?
  5. As a general rule I keep seat height, level and 'KOPS' (ja ja I know 😜) the same, the rest depends on the bike and some degree of comfort Hence why I'm surprised that slight nose down feels better indoors ... Did my longest ride on that setup (1 hour) yesterday and all good
  6. That's cool! I notice though that you use it as a proper training tool, in my case it's purely to avoid EXTENDED rainy days out on the bike 😜 Happy birthday BTW 🎉
  7. Fortunately yes 😁
  8. I have this theory about the Zwifters (or take your pick of indoor poison) and Wattbikers .... Often very strong but no or very little bunch/race skills But don't mind me, just the opinion of a 'timer 🙄
  9. Through a stroke of luck I'm no longer using an old 'guess' PowerCal power from HR calculating magafter ... it did the job to make it interesting but didn't really help if you actually wanted to race someone or do a planned workout Using a 'proper' power meter is like flippin night and day! Was gonna say my pain cave is now complete but is anything cycling related ever? Not at my house anyway 😜 Seems a waste to have it on a dedicated indoor bike that'll not have much use but since it would make no difference to me on my 'assorted' training bikes and I ride outdoors for fun not numbers I guess 😎
  10. In cycling as in life it takes long to realise that sometimes with an easier gear you can go just as fast if not faster! As we were reminded by those in the know, Jackie Lester et al, in my early cycling days 'he who spins wins' Cracker day for a bike ride on the Highveld 😎
  11. Made a few changes .... A little too 'minimalist' I guess Added a 'dummy' left shifter purely to have an additional hand position, shorter stem and turn it 'up' ... Adjusted the seat nose down a little compared to my normal road bike setup. Certainly feels better now As an aside anyone else find they need a different setup on the trainer versus their normal road setup?
  12. I did see before they took it down that he had been identified .... I got the name but guess not good to post it here *Luckily I didn't, I see it was not the person initially identified probably why it has been removed! Saw post saying the actual person had however been identified correctly now, no name given though ... I'll leave my nose out of it from here on*
  13. I DM'd you a contact, see if he still has one available Tell him Bennie gave you his contact details
  14. You are a scholar and a gentleman, thank you so much! Will be very helpful
  15. Howzit, thanks man .... my ever helpful mate Grumpy did warn me about that. Told me to make sure it had a slit in it 👍 If you wouldn't mind to post a picture of yours for reference though anyway please?
  16. Isn't fitted to the frame yet .... I'll certainly post pics as I go along. This pic I got off the Interwebs to show how it should look. Essentially Cannondale themselves and Project321 used to sell adapters called 'Lefty for all' that you could use to fit a Lefty to a 'standard frame', the only caveat being your headtube must fit between the 2 brackets of the Lefty. These seem no longer to be sold and to have the bits made would cost about 2k I'm told. I had this idea (was going to say brainwave but that would imply the presence of a brain ðŸĪŠ ) that a tapered steerer tube out of a fork 'upper' would have a close enough shape and size to be usable for this .... @droo was kind enough to send me one and strues nuts it goes in like a bought one 😎 Just need to have a relatively simple shim made for the top and I'm good to go! Busy with that at the moment ....
  17. Thanks to @droo fitting a Lefty to my Merida Monstercross has taken a big step forward .... Getting a spacer made next then test fit 😎 And as always 'just because I can' ðŸĪŠ
  18. Nowhere .... It's Monday, no riding so just mucked about with the trainer setup It works, and mentally as challenging as ever!
  19. "Life is mostly froth and bubble, Two things stand like stone. Kindness in another's trouble, Courage in your own" Go ride, only once you've been will you know if you should have or not!
  20. Lekker man! Now THAT is minimalist 😎
  21. As my Dad would have said 'so geluk met die ongeluk'!
  22. Have to love the way people use/reuse old stuff 👍... And make it all work together, in this case fit for purpose only
  23. But but .... What bike did/are you use/ing that is the question ðŸĪŠ
  24. Bliksem bru, bloody coffee everywhere 😂😂😂
