A good chuckle on this morning's ride... caught up with a helpmytrap fellow and had a brief tête-à-tête while stopped at a traffic light (yes sometimes we do 😜 ) He tells me ... his mates give him stick about being out on his e-bike but then they go and play bloody pickleball 😂😂 PS Forgot to mention ... he says 'and they nogal play with a dingbat!" Made my morning 😁

I use a dumb trainer with a 'geared' bike so don't personally have experience with the environment the OP describes but ... My son uses a Magene 'smart' trainer in ERG mode ... he uses a simple bike we built, single speed and then uses the virtual shifting. He also uses MyWhoosh I haven't heard any complaints from him!

I must be honest there are a few here I would avoid like the plague at a braai .... in fact I'd rather get dropped by any bunch they may ride in!

Must agree with @Scary Rider, did the 90 ... had an absolute blast (even straight through the couple of mud patches, thanks to the tip from @'Kaze Pete 👍) Had to rush off to a family braai after, missed out on the after festivities but next time!

Funny how 'Monstercross' has just fallen by the wayside and they're all just gravel bikes now .... but best not to see an angry monster 🤪 I just love this bike, love how odd it actually is ... Lefty, pure road shifters 11Sp with a doohicky to be able to use an 11sp MTB derailleur and wide range cassette. Chain guide just to keep the chain on the single blade .... mechanical to hydraulic brake calipers. MTB carbon front rim but a road carbon deep section rear rim but still tubeless A hoot to ride though 😎

Printed myself a number board holder and Varia seat bracket. Not in super quality just good enough for me, to save time I do, for my own sanity, strengthen bits here and there with either Epoxy or Superglue/Bicarb ... e.g the 2 little 'hooks' over the saddle rails for the Varia Will also use a camera lens tether on the Varia for peace of mind

True ... I get my required 900 weekly points with 3 x 1h+ fairly 'brisk' rides a week

At the risk of repeating this ad nauseam ... this is the crux of the problem Chris As I said more than once in any demographic you'd care to use there are always a certain percentage, no I don't care to make up a stat, of twats! Be it E-bikers, analogue bikers (stupid reference if you ask me), roadies, cyclists, butchers, bakers, accountants hell even pensioners or dare I say it the supposedly 'cool kids' the mountain bikers 😜 2 last things come to mind - as I've gotten older they just seem to have proliferated - when you're amongst that many 'riders', they are in reality just people, there will be just be that many of them!
