  3. that was the fasted i have peddled, need to get fitter to ride like that again. I would love to know where those A batch lighties get the extra gears from, think my bike has lost a few gears cause it ain't as fast as theirs I loved the granite pebble we climbed over, but ja fast, flat & dusty
  4. Have a look at this, it would be interesting to see how close it it to your current setup http://cyclingtips.com.au/2010/04/science-of-bike-fitting/

  12. Saw a few rocks moved in the first bit, more importantly spoke to 2 cops on top of the koppie looking for a wanabe mugger. They had riding their bikes up looking for the guy
  13. Obviously you need a newer one, bikes tend to get slower by the day, with the pace technology is moving, Well that is what I have my wife believe.......... I also work from this book, helped me a lot http://www.kalahari.com/Books/The-Big-Book-of-Endurance-Training-and-Racing_p_36851510;jsessionid=41FAC2D7F68DB401C60CE3EFD5CEE67B
  14. don't forget recovery, I increased my recovery time between rides and performance increased dramatically, oh and a new bike always helps
  15. I started in august 2012 and measure my improvements over a 30km off road training route, with 300m climbing, that I do often. 30km route started with an average speed of 18km per hour, this week did it at 23.3km per hour. Then strava tracks my improvements on the climbs, while the races show me how slow I actually am. Must admit I now enjoying my riding much more than when I started, even starting to enjoy the climbs!
  16. I just got the older duel air fork, took me a few rides to find out what I liked, but i love the shock now! Small adjustments and I can set up for anything. Feels like i have my MX bike's suspension clickers on
  17. I had a total blast, still smiling...... please keep the 10 min gaps for all the races, that must be the best change all year!
  18. sounds like the oscars
  19. wait until the quad riders see that bridge

  21. easy, at groenkloef you run into them around every corner
  22. I asked for a reliable contact, you clearly have not called 10111 yet :-) A lot of us ride Ruimte road, at the R55 robot you are a stones through away from Olievenhoutbos
  23. Yesterday while on an afternoon ride one of the commuters that I regularly pass on my rides, flagged me down to warn me not to travel to far down Ruimte. Turns out he was bike jacked at gunpoint, on his way to work this weekend. Apparently 2 guys, each with a gun, flanked him and took the bike, a cheap makro special. It happened pretty close to Olievenhoutbos. He seems to have an idea where the bike was taken, along with many other bikes, does someone have a contact within SAPS that we can trust to follow up? Pm me I am not going to put the detail up on an open forum for all to see. Then if anyone has some spare components lying around that you want to donate in building him a new bike, or if you have a complete cheapie, let me know.
  24. and everyone looking for an official on the day will be confused............
