I just upgraded my shock, from suntour xcr to a Reba, picked up the Reba from my LBS for R2300 (Big bargin), but we could only get it in 15mm thru axle. Because my bike has the shimano mt55 wheels I can't just upgrade the hub ( no 24 hole hubs to be found). So I just ordered a new MT55 wheel from chain reaction who have a few on special this week. Total cost of the conversion R3500. To change your hub you may need spokes as well, then a wheel builder (if you can't do it yourself, might be cheaper to just replace the wheel and sell the old one.

Check what is in the tyre,

they should seal to below freezing, I have had a batch of sealant "dry up" leaving water only, which did not seal, could be that your sealant was old

ok for the sake of anyone wanting to buy Shimano mountain bike wheels, DON'T DO IT!! You cannot get spares for the wheels if they break, all I am after is a new hub so I can convert the front wheel to a 15mm axle, but you cannot get a spare hub anywhere! I cannot buy a new front wheel locally, (have to buy the wheel set). Luckily Chainreaction is one click away. At least I got a brand new Reba shock for R2300, (how some shops are asking R7000 for the Reba is beyond me), so the conversion is still not to bad

Does anybody know if you can buy an adapter to convert the MT55 QR version to a 15mm axle? You can buy the wheel as a 15mm axle, so I am assuming that I can buy the adapter. Alternatively where can I get a 15mm axle 24 hole hub?

Does not affect me, my LBS is cheaper than overseas online stores.....

there is no way they can police this, I don't think it is targeting physical goods that are shipped, as VAT is collected on those items. But SARS loose on things like software, music, ebooks, essentially anything that is downloaded or a web based service. (think amazon)

With only one access road to the Ladder I would say yes, all about the $$. The public have no other way of getting there except via a locked gate and aggressive farmers who will "arrest you". Looks like a good spot for eToll
