  1. Rule number 5 is going to apply.
  2. You can add the event, as long as you provide a link to the online results with your time. They will confirm and give you the points. Also note that they only go back through 6 months of results. Anything earlier will be rejected. And there is a limit that you will reach pretty quickly so don't bother entering old events.

    Argus vs 99er

I signed up this morning and will be training hard after a poor performance at Die Burger. I've heard the climb to the end is tough but if you can finish strong then I'm sure you'll have covered 90% of the Argus training.
  4. ErgoFit if also R550 for one bike, it could go up to R950 for ErgoMax with two bikes. http://renayg.wordpress.com/ergofit/ The difference between a bike fit done at a LBS and one done professionally (ErgoFit/CycleFit) are worlds apart. I've had both done and the professional fitment is much more scientific and tailored to your particular riding experience (muscle condition), flexibility and height. LBS fitment is eye balled and generic as a one size fits all. If all you're looking for is what's the right bike size for you then use this: http://www.ebicycles.com/bicycle-tools/frame-sizer It's close enough for a one size fits all. If you want to optimize performance on the bike and have niggling pains then go for the professional fitment.
  5. I've just been for an ErgoFit, I'm 1.765m, same inseam. I ride a 55cm and it's slightly too big. I had to get a shorter stem to make it fit. I'd say that a 56cm is a size too big as has been said already.
  6. http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/ Rule #9 also applies
  7. The e-mail says there's a 3 minute gap for each group for A-Z
  8. I've got a C seeding. Second road race, what average speeds should I expect? And how does the seeding work, what are the groups in order?
  9. I had a new wheel built with a SRAM rear hub in April, now I'm told that the freewheel has worn and needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell me if the freewheel body should wear out so quickly or if it was faulty and what recourse I have? I have the bike washed and lubed after almost every ride so I have maintained it. I ride about twice a week, one mid week training ride and a race on the weekend. +- 50km a week during peak season. The LBS won't replace it and the distributors won't replace it under warranty because it's a moving part. Should I just suck it up and take it as wear and tear or do I have reason to chase it?
  10. Congrats, awesome news! So what happened with the insurance? Was it paid out? Now what?
  11. It would be interesting to know, this was the only reason I could think of that my brakes would need to be bled. I've got the 2012 XT brakes. Any experts out there that would be able to confirm if it's safe to store a bike (with hydraulic brakes) upside down? Maybe something for mythbusters....
  12. Isn't this a problem for hydraulic brakes? I stored my bike up side down and had to have my brakes bled after just a few months from new. Seems that the bubbles from the resivoir move up the pipes to the pistons and you lose power. Maybe someone that know's about these things better than I do could comment?
  13. It's something like R260 for a PPA membership. If you do one race you save about R70 (R35 for day license, +-R30 discount and R5 for temp number), so if you do one race every quarter you will save R280.
  14. I am going to second this, firstly on the Cycle Lab in Tygervalley. I had great service from the sales staff and spend much more at the shop besides for the initial bike purchase. In the 8 months since I bought the bike, I've had to replace the headset (worn), the chain (worn) and now it's the rear freebody (worn). I bought a wash and lube service package with them and wash my bike after every ride and I don't ride more than 50km a week. I'm now stopping my support of Cycle Lab. CWC is great but it seems they cater for the upper, upper market.
  15. CWC says access denied for me when I try their site.
  16. Hey Hubbers, Where is the best place to go for an ErgoMax session in Cape Town? And is it worth doing the ErgoMax compared to ErgoFit?
  17. The MTB race was advertised as 40km, my GPS recording only has 29.89km. I know they normally round up but that's a lot of rounding.
  18. The trail run at Dirtopia has also been cancelled for Sunday because of weather. That together with the Spur event at Oak Valley.
  19. I entered last night on the weather forecast of a bit of rain and wind. This morning the forecast has made a drastic turn and there's crazy amounts of rain and wind seems to be getting better: http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/table_bay I know the Spur Adventure race in Grabouw has been cancelled due to extreme weather. The trail run in Dirtopia still seems to be going ahead. What are the chances that the race will be cancelled due to bad weather?
  20. The story is on News24 at the moment. Congrats for getting your bike back! Must have been an awesome feeling riding home knowing you had it.
  21. My bank manager is not going to be happy. Bike: R7K Wheels: R6K Feeling while riding on chapmans peak: PRICELESS!
