  1. I only need his towing services during the day. Someone else can opt for and pay for services rendered at night...
  2. hey H, we can always both hook on to my man Clint over here. Remember how he road op and down those climbs last year to find nice spots to take photos while we were suffering like dogs? Pfft, who needs EPO if they have a tube connected to Clint's seat post!
  3. photoshopped, look at the curtain...
  4. just DIY! very easy and it will cost you under R10.
  5. I told him to make peace with the fact that my slow ass will determine our finishing time. Heat + Climbs = my kryptonite If H wants us to go up the hills any faster, there is only one way
  6. I don't think it is possible to say "SS", "3T" and "fun" in the same sentence thread
  7. yes he will. I am expecting the same from Karma
  8. anyone with feedback on the route and traffic?
  9. I should have done that. The pool felt like a bath
  10. so who is doint this race? how is the roads and traffic on said roads?
  11. Yoh, it was hot as hell! And that was the biggest tree in the camp site! Even my skinny legs could not hide away from the heat!
  12. I get what you are saying. What I was trying to say is that the stuff is sponsored by companies that hope to sell more of their products in future (hence the give-away of samples). My guess is that the said companies will stop their sample give-aways if the organisers opts to give it to the homeless because the homeless is not their target market. The samples is part of said companies' sales strategy and not an attempt at charity. Yes, it sometimes is a sad sad world...
  13. With regards to the goodie bags. I might have it wrong but I think all the stuff is "sponsored". So our entry fees does not go towards the stuff that they put in it.
  14. I hope you are right! Then I might be on track for a nice and easy 94.7 (we ride the double loop so our first loop is never faster than 2:55 so that we can still manage the second loop)
  15. D2D was done in 2:10 last year (I think). Also D2D is much earlier so most guys are not at their peaks yet. I guess it depends on each person's own strengths. Some are stronger climbers than others etc
  16. well done! Not bad for a first race. IMO, the 94.7 is harder. The climbs is more spread out through the race so you start working early on. D2D seemed easier for the first half of the race so your legs stay fresh for longer
  17. I was in the same mix but managed to hold on after jumping to the faster group on that climb. What kit did you ride in?
  18. This was my first D2D but it seems this year was harder than last year. The winning time this year is 10min longer than last year. The number of sub 3's in the D batch also came down from 21 to 6 this year.
  19. thx, I'll check it out now
  20. When should we expect the results? Would like to see how the other guys did.
  21. it was just a matter of using the right clothing. I was slightly cold before the start but all was fine once we got going. I only unzipped my shell on the very last climb.
  22. that is a good TT time man. Pushing hard from the start will make those climbs extra tough!
  23. How was the ride guys? I enjoyed it and will be back next year. I got my sub 3 with a couple of minutes to spare and to be honest it was fairly easy. It felt more like a group ride than a race, I guess the guys wanted to save some matches for the climbs.
  24. great stuff, I'll look out for you guys!
  25. if you want to meet up and go for that sub 3, I'll be on a black and white Scott R3 and riding in Club 100 kit. I'm hoping my legs will be good to go :0
