  3. Is the mens XCO on DSTV?
  4. Is the XCO on DSTV today? Don't see it on any of the sport channels
  5. Anyone know where to watch the XCO today?
  6. Jip, we were in 2F and results shows 3B...can't find any 2F results
  7. Is dit net ek of irreteer die ebikes ander ook. Couple of bunches just sitting behind our tandem and don't want to work, decided to drop them just for an e-bike to pull them back again...there's probably a place for them but I don't like them having a influence on others times... Saw a few more riders sitting behind e-bikes...I like the old days where you work on your own for whatever time you chase. Any way still enjoyed the race!
  8. Thanks Chris, good advice, yes they're here to stay, it gets more people on bikes which is a good thing.
  9. Yes, with the Christmas in winter going on, accomodation is a huge problem...I'm playing with the idea of maybe doing something like Esselfontein where the whole family camp on the farm while you do 2 or even 3 days of riding...think April/May will be a nice time of year.
  10. Its just sad how much it cost these days to host such an event, I felt R450 for the 45km was a bit on the high side, but for anything less at around 100 riders you're not gonna break even. I can't see Tulbagh getting much more riders during this time of year so as much as everyone enjoyed the event I'm not convinced it will be feasable in the future.
  11. Dominic Calitz should have won, was about 3min in front at last water table...but unfortunately missed a arrow that we think was driven over. Cobus Marais won in the end with Jacques Jordaan 2nd and Dominic within seconds 3rd. Results at webscorer. Think we had about 110 total riders which was more than we anticipated for our first try, had lots of positive feedback so think the potential is there to make it a nice event in the future. Might move it to a warmer time of year.
  12. 😲Eish...didn't even notice that ha ha...thanks for letting me know! We'll generate a new code that I'll give to the winner on the day...and of course put the police on anyone trying to redeem the old code🤪
  13. Forgot to mention...some bike-addict online vouchers up for grabbs on the Fiery Forrest single track strava segment.
  14. Weather forcast still great for the weekend, hope to welcome some bikehub locals in my backyard! We've changed the start times to 8:30 (45km) and 9:00 (25km) to accomodate some riders from out of town.
  15. Camping can be arranged for free, PM me if interrested
  16. The weather forcast looks excellent, with sunny weather predicted from Friday for the whole weekend. A couple of us did the 45km route yesterday and the trails drained very well after Saturday's rain. Do not underestimate the 45km - it's a tough ride.
  17. Forgot to mention from Theuniskraal's side we're giving a complimentary bottle of wine to each finishing rider as medal.
  18. Nice King of the Mountain prize up for grabs, sponsored by Rijks Wine Estate & Hotel to the value of about R10 000!! Hope to see some racing snakes compete for this one up Jannies Pass on Remhoogte!
  19. Hi Milky, for this year only the 30km trail run are going through Fanties pass. The 45km MTB are going up Jannies Pass on Remhoogte which is right next to Fanties. Fanties can get quite dangerous when wet so we were uncertain if we should include it or not. Might include it in the future weather permitting...
  20. Thanks, yes we're doing our best to keep adding new trails to the current network. All proceeds for this event will be put back into new trails. The route maps show on my side but for some reason it don't want to show on this page. If you click on the "enter event" link you'll find the route maps on the entry ninja site. If you still can't find it PM me then I'll mail it to you.
  21. For those of you that haven't entered yet, weather predictions looks like we're slotting in nicely between the cold fronts with sunny weather predicted for the whole weekend of the Christmas in July festival.
