  1. Aha, that reminds me, my stomach was propely upset that evening and the following day. Definitely picked up a bug in that water!
  2. Definitely doable overall time, here is a breakdown of my times of last year. Keep in mind the following: My Swim is relatively weak(back of the pack), My Bike is pretty strong(passed allot of people on the course) I suffered on the run(got passed by plenty of peeps) Swim:33:52 Total Transition 1: 5:00 Bike: 1h24:28 T2: 2:14 Run: 1h02 (my PB on a flat 10km route is 48min, so quite a bit slower) Total 3h07 So I agree with IceCreamMan, your target cycle time might be a bit aggressive. My bike time was about 10mins faster than those I finished with and my swim and run was about 5mins slower each compared to those around me. So it points out that I pushed a bit too hard on the bike and paid for it on the Run.
  3. Possibly a day for the breakaway? Will the Peloton allow Cummings another shot at it?
  4. I recorded some of the "action" in the Open Men race on my GoPro. But with me being at my limits just to hang on at the back it is not in the thick of things, so I kept it short, just one lap of footage: https://youtu.be/RvWtjRyrV7o
  5. Got 4 injured/DQ'd riders, so need to have one non-competing cyclist in my 9-man team, so went for SAGAN, because you can never rule the guy out, no matter the conditions... he is the Riaan Kruywagen of Cycling
  6. What I can't seem to understand is how yesterday ended up all square between the majority of GC contenders. Froome was dropped when AG2R attacked, Froome spent allot of energy to make contact with them. Then, Froome got a puncture, he was 25seconds down or something similar. Yet he still managed to get back after a sacrificial ride by Kwiatkowski(or someone else, can't remember exactly) and a last pull by Landa. So Froome definitely spent a whole bunch of matches there. Yet, with Froome compromised, only Dan Martin was able to get away and take time on Froome(and everyone else in that bunch). If Froome is able to stick with them after burning so many matches, I can't see them taking time on him, except if they finish on a wall again...
  7. Currently left with 8 Active riders... All of them are in the points now and then, but I fear my top 100 position won't hold till Paris. Safe to say I have a 0% chance of winning anything this year. Will just be an "also ran".
  8. Wow, my first Crit and that was super intense. I was blown away after just 4 laps! Struggled just to hang on at the back of the group. I will have to significantly improve if I want to ride along next time.
  9. Was planning on mounting my GoPro upfront. We could get some nice combined video shots to promote this series. Think the organisers should take a leaf out of the TDF commissionairs modus operandi and let this slide...
  10. Hey, that was gonna be my line. At least I will have some company at the back
  11. Landa and Kwiatkowski off the front! Launchpad for a massive Froome attack? Boys, hier kom sports!
  12. Can somebody quickly school me: Why are so few of the TDF stages in the 100km length bracket? Those flat 200km sprinters stages are supremely boring, so I doubt they pull any significant TV viewership in any case...
  13. Warren Barguil along with him! Today is gonna hurt!
  14. Not picking sides, yet... But there is still allot that doesn't add up. Full story will probably never be heard as both sides obviously had a part to play in this but neither will be forthcoming with all the info as they will only give info that puts them in a good light. Very thankful to not be a judge in our courts that has to try to get to the full truth with only half truths by the accused and accuser.
  15. Long way till Paris. Beenham Flirting with a top 50 position, but unless Matthews and GVA starts winning some stages I will only be moving backwards from here it seems.
  16. If Tony Martin goes tomorrow and Steve Cummings jumps onboard they will not see them again until the podium. We can only dream...
  17. The opportunity for poetic justice exists with Aru in Yellow. If he was to have a mechanical it would be a perfect opportunity for Vrooom to repay the favour with some tempo riding upfront...
  18. GOOD! We don't want a repeat of the fiasco of the 2016 Duathlon stage. Understatement of the year will be that the Mur de Pequere is the decicive point in today's stage. It touches 18% in places, HECTIC!
  19. That final wall is the only type of climb where the contenders will take time on CF. Landa could well be the next leader, but his TT abilities are not what they need to be. He was 1m08 down on Gerraint Thomas. SKY is built around a bunch of guys that can TT very well and they basically just drive it just at that point where everybody is at their limits to just hang on. On a wall finish, it comes down to the pure climbers. Froome is fine, won't stress about yesterday. If the contenders want to stand a chance they will need to attack him where is TT team can't help him: On the hectic inclines and the descents...
  20. He'll take today as a recovery ride and then I am pretty sure tomorrow will be another opportunity for him
  21. This is a cut-and-dry case of biased officials. Can one not appeal to the court for arbitration of sport?
  22. Aha, I see. Yep, consistency is not their strong suit.
  23. Sorry, I missed the Uran penalty, what was it for?
  24. Maincheese into top 10! Daarsy nou!
