  1. I'm running an XT (HG93) chain. +- 1200km so far with no issues. KEEP IT CLEAN - I clean mine every 2nd ride or after a wet ride. Get yourself a chain cleaner such as the Park. You don't need to use fancy cleaning liquid, something like Prepsol works well. Dry with compressed air and lube it properly. The other thing to watch when riding is that you don't cross up your chain too much i.e. big chainring with big gear - try to keep the chain as straight as possible.
  2. Here are 2 sites which helped me to get started with servicing my MTB there are many others if you search. It's easier than you think. The only thing I have'nt done is servicing the forks. Get yourself a decent tool set and a stand. Good luck http://www.sheldonbrown.com/ http://steveukmtb.wordpress.com/
  3. I have a Tacx Bushido for sale. PM me if interested
  4. I had the same problem with SPD cleats on Sidi Dragons. I used a drop of blue Loctite on each bolt - problem solved.
  5. Price of 650b tires at CWC R899 - insane!
  6. I also wiped out and cracked a Bell Ukon. Replaced it with a Giro Xar, very comfortable and well vented. Got mine at Olympic Cycles
  7. I noticed yesterday, watching the TDF, that Wiggins' TT bike had an elliptical chain ring. Is there a benefit and are these things only used on TT bikes?
  8. Yes I do
  9. How does the crash warranty work? Recently had a big off, Bell Ukon cracked in 3 places, probably would'nt be typing this if I had'nt worn a helmet.
  10. Agreed, total rubish! So was the Ausie version. Even the UK original is getting a bit same old same old, although saying that I can't wait for the next season.
  11. What is the benefit of riding with bib rather than normal cycling shorts?
  12. Yip. With Ittok & Troika. Rest of system: LK1 pre, Aktiv X over, 3 x LK 240, Isobarik speakers
  13. +1 My Linn still sounds great afer 23 years!
  14. The reason is that they are worried that the greenie bunnie huggers, who are in SA for the COP 17 (environmental) conference, will try to protest, wave banners at Koeberg, they been against nuclear power (and coal and oil, etc) As mountain bikers we are all for the environment, its a big reason we ride, but the lunatic fringe has closed one of our rides until 12 December.
  15. Why so few bikes on your online site?
  16. Surely the 220 less age formula is based on medical research? Are there any doctors out there who could give us advice?
  17. +1 - Well done to the organisers
  18. I had the same problem, sorted it out by fitting bar ends. Alows you to use different hand positions and as a bonus helps up the hills.
  19. You could have oil / grease on parts Try this: clean the seat post and down tube with Isopropyl alcohol. Don't overtighten.
  20. Great that the site is up and running, in terms of new items ...... not much as far as I can see. Hopefully this is just the start of things to come. Visited the shop on Saturday, it's fantastic!
